iOS 17 battery life test is here, and it crashes

The official version of iOS 17 has been released for a few days. Every time a new version is released, people are more concerned about battery life and fluency. From the experience of users who have upgraded, most of the feedback is that the battery life is not as good as before.

Now YouTube blogger iAppleBytes has shared the battery life scores of various models in the iOS 17 system. Five iPhone models are still found, namely iPhone SE 2020, iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 12, and iPhone 13, including iPhones with chips from A11 to A15.

It should be noted that iAppleBytes does not simulate daily use for testing, but uses the battery test function provided by the GeekBench tool to compare the running scores and automatic shutdown time of five iPhones after upgrading to the iOS 17 system.

Before the test, the screen brightness of each phone was adjusted to 25%, and the automatic brightness adjustment function was turned off (maintaining the same settings as when testing previous iOS versions). The time it took for each iPhone to run GeekBench from full power until it automatically shut down is as follows:

Judging from the test results, the battery life of the five models has collapsed, and the battery life has decreased. Among them, the battery life of iPhone XR, 12, and 13 has decreased significantly, all of which have decreased by about 1 hour.

This is just a battery life test conducted using GeekBench4 and does not reflect the user's actual usage scenarios. It is for reference only.

Although there are no iPhone 14 series models, we learned from the usage feedback of 14 users that after the iPhone 14 series upgraded to iOS 17, some reported that the battery life decreased, some reported that it remained unchanged, and some reported that it became smoother.

Battery life has always been a mystery. Every user uses their phone differently, so there will be deviations. Have you upgraded to iOS 17? You can share your upgrade experience in the comments section.

In addition, the official version of iOS 17 has also added a new change, which is to change the default App notification tone from the previous "three full tones" to "bounce". The new "bounce" tone is low and short, and users are more likely to ignore it, thus missing key information.

Moreover, Apple currently does not provide the option to modify the App notification sound. Only some apps that support custom modification of notification sounds support modification, such as WeChat.

Therefore, many users have complained about this change in iOS 17, and believe that Apple will modify this option in subsequent updates.

For users who have upgraded to iOS 17, are you used to the new App message notification tone?
