
On November 23, three rescued Oriental White Storks returned to nature in Qilihai Wetland.
On that day, the Forestry Bureau of Ninghe District, Tianjin, released three Oriental White Storks capable of surviving in the wild back into the wild at Qilihai Wetland.
In April of this year, an Oriental White Stork nest atop a power transmission tower in Ninghe District was found to be at risk of collapsing. Subsequently, under the guidance of the Ninghe District Forestry Bureau, the chicks were sent to local volunteers with experience in the protection and rescue of Oriental White Storks for treatment and care. After a period of careful care, the three chicks have reached the condition for release into the wild.
The Oriental White Stork is a Class I protected animal in China. The three Oriental White Storks were fitted with satellite trackers upon their return to the wild, and staff will continuously monitor them to better understand their activities and health.
