Although Angelosaurus was discovered as early as 1818, it was not until 1885 that scientists recognized it as a dinosaur.

The Angelosaurus has a roughly triangular head and a long, slender nose. Its teeth are diamond-shaped, seemingly well-suited for catching leaves. The Angelosaurus has a relatively long neck, body, and tail, and its long, narrow feet have large claws with curved thumbs, which are likely used to dig up the underground roots of plants.

Anchiosaurus's forelimbs were only one-third the length of its hindlimbs, so it was likely that, like Plateosaurus, it walked on all fours most of the time, but was able to stand on its hind limbs to reach its food.

Angelosaurus lived in the Early Jurassic period, and their fossils have been found in the United States and southern Africa.
