A foal born in Devon, England, on a hillside in a national park was abandoned by its mother shortly after birth. With the help of staff, the foal recovered and has taken a toy teddy bear as its "mother," remaining inseparable from it.

According to reports, the foal named Breeze was born halfway up a mountain in a national park. By the time the local Devon County Foal Shelter arrived to rescue it, the foal was already too weak due to excessive shock and severe dehydration. Although the foal recovered with the help of the shelter staff, it lacked a mother to cuddle with. Therefore, the staff placed a teddy bear named Buttons in the foal's enclosure. From then on, they were inseparable, keeping each other company.

Shelter executive director Sheila Bowden said, "Poor Plymouth has no mother by his side. Although the staff at the shelter provide round-the-clock care, it's still different. So we often give the orphaned foal a large, comforting toy for companionship." The charity also appealed to the public to donate suitable, soft toys for animals that will be taken to shelter in the future.
