This article will tell you about the practical experience of how a newbie who just came into contact with Douyin increased his followers by 30,000 in 7 days at no cost. No, to be precise it should be 14 days, because in the first 7 days I was locked in the small black room of TikTok and my traffic was restricted.

Painful Lessons:

Here I have to mention some taboos in Douyin. I won’t talk about those with incorrect values, which are definitely not allowed. The most common mistakes made by newcomers are "plagiarism" and "increasing followers" . As a general rule, if you keep updating your videos every day, the platform will be more "friendly" to your account (giving you more exposure and weight). So I prepared 3 videos:

Video 1: Dad takes care of cute baby – imitates the popular TikTok account and shoots a video with his own baby.

Video 2: Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge – I believe that those who use Douyin often see similar videos, with very high numbers of likes and comments.

Video 3: Sky and Clouds – This is a popular TikTok video with over a million likes. It is also the easiest to shoot, so I recorded a similar video and uploaded it.

When I saw this data, I was confused. Is it because I am too ugly? Is the resolution of the phone you are shooting on too low? It’s understandable if you don’t like or follow the videos you see, but look at the double-digit number of views. A trip to Zhangjiajie costs more than 3,000 RMB, but only gets 76 views. I can’t handle it!

What’s even more terrifying is that on the afternoon of the third day, Douyin sent a push message, which roughly meant “The content of your video is similar to that of other users and has been reported. During this period, Douyin will limit your display volume.”

Without commenting, my mood fell to the bottom, but I am also glad that I am also a paranoid person. The worse I do, the harder I will bite the bullet to find out why, even if I fail in the end...

So, I started to browse various forums, BBS , and blogs to understand the mechanism of TikTok and the summarized experience of my predecessors.

After sorting them out, I classified them as: One Eye Two Axe

One goal refers to the purpose

Every TikTok account has its own meaning of existence. I am quite convinced by Hegel’s saying that “existence is reasonable”. Why are you doing this? Do you want to become an internet celebrity ? The purpose of opening a Douyin account this time is to interact with Ikun (Cai Xukun fans) and send them the Kun Kun emoticons and high-definition photos that I made myself. Because during that time my husband and I were crazy about the variety show "Idol Producer" and became little fans of Cai Xukun, so we set this goal.

The second axe is: Skill

There are many people on Douyin who have become famous because of their skills and perseverance. For example, the painter Leng Jun who has received millions of likes, Li Ge who has a sweet appearance but a hoarse voice, Daigula K who is a dance master with hundreds of millions of views, and so on.

The author looked at himself from head to toe and from left to right, and realized that he really did not have those unique skills, and his singing was tone-deaf, so he decided not to bring trouble to the vast number of Douyin users. Many students often complain that they have no resources when they first start operating Douyin. Firstly, I don’t have the looks of an internet celebrity, and I don’t have the money to shoot fun videos, so I just take a few videos every day and upload them to get by.

In fact, resources can be looks (I believe everyone has seen many videos of cuteness), occupation (travel experts can take photos of various scenery, famous bosses with millions of fans, etc.), money (luxury cars, luxury houses), people (whether there is a group of friends to help record plot videos together), geographical location (historical sites, prairie and other scenery)...

The author also sorted out the resources at hand: there are many ikun girls' cheering songs on the Internet, Cai Xukun endorses many products (the products are easy to buy in supermarkets), and the collection of posters and other peripherals is relatively complete.

Here are some tips I use:

When uploading a video, you must add a challenge (topic). I chose #蔡徐坤# and #ikun#. It is recommended to choose 2 different topics with high participation, so that Tik Tok will have an algorithm to push your video to people related to your topic, so that the probability of them liking your video will be greatly increased.

Tik Tok's push mechanism: After you upload a video, Tik Tok will first push it to a certain number of users. Depending on the quality of the video, it will be pushed to 200-500 users if there is no problem. Then it will analyze the popularity of your video. If the interaction rate such as likes, comments, and reposts is high, Tik Tok will continue to push it to more people.

Tip 1: Add some active friends. After you post a video, ask them to go to your homepage, click to watch the video, and then like and comment. (Not all friends will be pushed the video you send, some will be blocked by TikTok)

Tip 2: When someone comments on your video, try to reply to the user in real time to maintain the interaction rate

Based on the above skills and resources, the author has produced new videos in a targeted manner. The first three contents uploaded are:

Video 1: Cai Xukun shares his profile picture (friends who like him will add him as a friend and ask you for his profile picture).

Video 2: Cai Xukun’s surrounding video (real shot and record).

Video 3: Editing of the cheering song (the video was edited using the “Cool Teng” font which was very popular at the time).

Obviously, the display volume of video three is about 3 times that of the others, so the author uploaded several videos of the same format in the next few days. Of course, in order to avoid the problem of "plagiarism" of other people's articles on Douyin again, different songs and different background clips were chosen this time. The output is as follows:

This time it’s awesome! Hard work pays off, and finally a hit video was produced. In 7 days, the number of views reached over 400,000, and the number of fans reached 30,000. Moreover, the fans are very accurate, basically more than 80% are fans of Cai Xukun, which is in line with the operating purpose of the Douyin account.
