Huawei Developer Competition offline sharing session @ Huawei Connect Conference

On August 31, 2016, HUAWEI CONNECT 2016 was grandly opened at the Shanghai World Expo Center. More than 20,000 people participated in the conference, which was held simultaneously in 3 venues. It focused on showcasing 13 ecosystem products and capabilities such as Huawei's cloud computing, Internet of Things, and big data, as well as more than 1,000 cutting-edge technology exchanges and hands-on experience platforms. This conference not only promoted key technologies in the global digital transformation and intelligent society, but also witnessed Huawei's determination in the developer ecosystem and saw Huawei's landing and transformation.

"The intelligent society is coming. This is a profound social change, and today we cannot fully understand its depth and breadth. But one thing is certain: information and communication (ICT) technology is the most important cornerstone behind the intelligent society. Huawei has been committed to building the "end, pipe, and cloud" technology architecture of the intelligent society, and this is also the strategic direction in which Huawei focuses its investment." Huawei's rotating CEO Ken Hu admitted in his first keynote speech at the Huawei Connect Conference yesterday.

Based on the full ICT open capabilities, Huawei hopes to provide all-round support to developers. On August 15th last month, the final of the Huawei Developer Competition was held at the Beijing Yansha Kempinski Hotel. The first, second and third prizes were awarded by community leaders and technical experts.

Today, in Conference Room 6 of the Shanghai World Expo Center Hall, the Huawei Developer Community arranged a sharing and awarding session of "Huawei Developer Competition Contestants Sharing" at the HUAWEI CONNECT 2016 Huawei Full Connection Conference, inviting contestants and Internet technology experts to the scene to conduct technical exchanges with the participating developers!

As a summary of the opening competition, Tian Gang, Director of P&S Strategy and Business Development Department, introduced why Huawei wants to build a developer ecosystem. He believes that every event is based on connections. Once people and people, people and things, and things and things are fully connected, a large number of demands will inevitably be generated to complete the realization. For massive personalized demands, whether from the entire industry, cloud management, or end, stronger capabilities need to be opened up.

Tian Gang believes that Huawei has strong cloud platform and operator support in both IT and CT fields. Furthermore, Huawei has utilized and contributed to open source on its own platforms, and through cooperation with the Chinese community, it has brought more growth and learning opportunities to every developer in the community. Huawei has accumulated experience in IT and operators in more than 170 countries around the world, and has invested approximately RMB 190 billion in R&D, making it the best in ICT integration.

Next, the event shared outstanding works with furniture life as the main theme for 90 minutes: Love Life, Stop for a Moment, Duoling Home Furnishing, Kangli Youlan, Tianlai Karaoke, Harbourson Online Live Broadcast, Liangliang Glasses, and iQiyi Works.

Through the introduction of the work of Stop for a while, we learned that it actually solves a more realistic problem of temporary parking. It is developed based on the open capabilities of Huawei's CaaS communication. It is a parking software based on WeChat. Individual developers use communication capabilities in an innovative way to create a convenient car moving service.

Tianlai Karaoke is also developed based on the open capabilities of Huawei's CaaS communication. It combines live broadcast and on-demand, and provides one-to-one/one-to-many video teaching on a large screen, with rich teaching video content. It is a video live broadcast application based on the large screen of a home TV.

During the sharing process, what attracted the audience's attention was the service robot of Youyou, which comes from Beijing Kangli Youlan Co., Ltd. Youyou is connected to the smart home part of Huawei OpenLife, making Youyou the input end of smart home information. Its main functions are: 1. Security housekeeper: security sensor status monitoring and broadcasting; remote video monitoring; home directional patrol; abnormal situation viewing. 2. Life assistant: temperature, humidity and light sensor status monitoring and broadcasting; home appliance home automatic control and voice control; weather and news information broadcasting. 3. Entertainment partner: home network status monitoring, broadcasting and speeding up; video calls; photo sharing; human-computer dialogue. 4. Health care: health and medical equipment data collection and broadcasting of blood pressure and blood sugar testing and medication reminders. And remote video online medical treatment can be carried out.

After about an hour of sharing, the theme with life as the main line has ended. Next, the theme of Le Business will be discussed with business as the main line, with presentations from Haijie Technology, Kunlun Oilfield, Sanchuan Water, and Agricultural Drones.

According to the contestant from Haijie Technology, Yunhuiyan Smart Store is a SAAS service for retail and other industries based on the interface capabilities of Huawei's universe platform, and is developed and operated based on the real needs of industry customers. The highlight is that the location-based attribute filtering capability is deeply integrated and developed into a customized business scenario presentation, and the docking and real-time presentation of real data is realized, exploring and practicing the new business model of online big data analysis and pay-as-you-go for SAAS systems. Yunhuiyan deeply integrates the value of Huawei interfaces and operator data, and realizes the value of data capabilities to the greatest extent without reducing or leaking operator data, forming the ISV's own knowledge base precipitation, providing an industry-oriented SAAS cloud service model, and the market gap is very large.

Next, the smart water project of Sanchuan Smart Technology Co., Ltd. is mainly developed based on Huawei OceanConnect IoT platform capabilities and NB-IoT modules. NB-IOT is used to solve problems such as water meter data collection difficulties, and the IoT connection management platform is used to solve data collection and analysis problems, so that data can be uploaded to northbound applications, and functions such as real-time billing, water quality monitoring, and user volume monitoring can be realized, realizing water information management. According to the team, this is a complete product from terminal to application, which has a driving effect on IoT multi-ecosystem.

After the wonderful works were presented, there was an exciting awards ceremony, in which the works from the SDN and IoT ecosystems were announced.

In the SDN ecosystem, three teams were selected to the finals and won the SDN ecosystem entry award. Each team received a P9 Plus mobile phone as an award. They are: Wang Mingzhi, a representative of Sichuan Communication Research Planning and Design Co., Ltd., who won the third prize in our competition; Yang Yong, Tang Xin, and Yuan Qingxin, representatives of the Broadband Access Optical Network Laboratory of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, and Huang Chengyuan from the Future Network Research Laboratory of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications.
