Aiti Tribe Stories (9): A Female Programmer's Development Dream

[51CTO.com original article] Xiao Bao is a straightforward and cheerful female programmer. She never puts on makeup. When she works, she can throw away all her image. With messy hair and dark circles under her eyes from working overtime, she looks like a male programmer. But she exudes a temperament of never giving up. When she is not working overtime, she likes to stay at home and read books, or go traveling with friends.

Small package Android development

Professional training changes your destiny

Xiaobao's journey to becoming a programmer is quite interesting. When she was filling out her college application, she could not choose other majors in her target university, so she studied software development in college. In her junior year, the school arranged for her to go to a training institution for a two-month professional training. This training was a small turning point in Xiaobao's life, because she originally planned to work in other industries after graduating from college, but the two-month training changed her mind, so she decided to continue learning Java development in the training institution. When the training was about to end, a company happened to come to the institution to recruit Android developers. Xiaobao actually wanted to accumulate some interview experience, so she went for the interview. Fortunately, she passed the interview and the subsequent re-examination, and Xiaobao embarked on the road of Android development.

Take the first step bravely, change is not far away

To be honest, Xiao Bao was very nervous when she signed the trial contract. After all, she had never learned Android and had no knowledge of this field. She was worried that she would not be able to do the job. Fortunately, she had some basic knowledge of Java, so she learned while working. Xiao Bao's good friend interviewed with her, and they adapted to each other quickly in an unfamiliar environment. Recalling the scene when she first arrived at the company, Xiao Bao got a computer in the morning to set up the development environment. At lunch, the leader gave her a task: write a calculator and required that the interface she wrote must be different from that of her good friend. So the well-behaved Xiao Bao didn't even bother to eat. She started to dig up the code written by others on the Internet, reading and remembering the key points. If she didn't understand, she searched for information on the Internet and discussed with each other. In the end, she wrote a simple calculator while learning. This is often the case. As long as you dare to take the first step, you can get through it no matter how difficult it is.

Hitting a wall is a kind of growth

Xiao Bao, who was new to the workplace, was scheduled to work overtime on a project on the Dragon Boat Festival. This was her first overtime since she started working. Overtime is common for programmers, so she was mentally prepared, but it was obvious that her preparation was not sufficient. Her leader started bombarding her with calls early in the morning, and Xiao Bao and her friend hurried to the company to work overtime. When they arrived, they found that they were the only two people working overtime in the entire company. They worked until midnight. Only the lights were on at their workstations on the entire floor, and the surroundings were so quiet that people felt uneasy. Xiao Bao was coding and looking up information at the same time, wishing she had an extra head, but she felt that "you only regret not having enough knowledge when you need it."

Hard work pays off, and Xiaobao finally finished the final work of this project. Dragging her tired body, she did not complain, but felt that this was a growth in her life, and every setback on the road of Android development was a valuable asset. Because she believed that those who achieve great things must first suffer in their hearts, toil their muscles and bones, starve their bodies, deprive themselves of money, and do whatever they want.

Now Xiao Bao recalls her journey as a programmer, where setbacks and growth coexist. Those things that seem difficult to do will eventually come true as long as you work hard.
