Apple Pay will support the opening of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Interconnection Card: iPhone can be used to pay for buses and subways in multiple cities

This is a major benefit for domestic iPhone and Apple Watch users.

On January 13, Beijing Municipal Card officially announced that later this year, users will be able to open the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Interconnection Card through Apple Pay, and use iPhone or Apple Watch to easily take the subway and bus, and travel to more cities.

The Beijing I-Card currently in use can continue to be used. The company will announce more details in the near future.

According to the information, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Interconnection Card is applicable to people who have frequent travel needs between the three regions of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei and the interconnected cities across the country. When applying, they need to look for the "Transportation Union" logo on the card.

The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Intercommunication Card can be used to ride buses and subways in Beijing, Tianjin and 11 cities in Hebei Province (Shijiazhuang, Chengde, Zhangjiakou, Qinhuangdao, Tangshan, Langfang, Baoding, Cangzhou, Hengshui, Xingtai and Handan), and enjoy local preferential fare policies.

At the same time, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Interconnection Card can be used in cities across the country that are included in the "Transportation Union". As long as the urban area you visit has joined the interconnection system, you can swipe the card to take the local bus, subway, boat, and even use it in other public transportation areas.

As of December 26, 2019, 275 cities at or above the prefecture level across the country have achieved interconnection of transportation cards.
