The file size limit is still so stingy in 2020

When we were taking online classes a while ago, the biggest headache for teachers was sending files in WeChat groups. The file size limit was too small, so files were often too large to send. Let's switch to a network disk, some parents are complaining again, it's really difficult!

● Large videos posted on WeChat on mobile phones will be compressed terribly, and the video size on WeChat PC version cannot exceed 25M, which makes teachers in my class ask me for help. For teaching videos smaller than 200M, it is easy to change the suffix to m4v, but for videos larger than 200M, you can only use video compression software.

The new version of WeChat has increased the video size limit, but even though it has been increased to 200M, it still caused a lot of complaints from users, because the high-definition video shot by mobile phones now may exceed the 200M limit in 30 seconds. So the high-definition video has become a compressed video. In addition, there are also problems with file transfer, and it cannot be resumed after a break.

Is it so difficult to add a progress bar to the voice?

Next is the topic of voice messages. Voice messages are great because you don’t have to type, you can just speak directly, but voice messages can sometimes cause a lot of trouble for users.

● No progress bar for voice messages: I have always wanted a progress bar for voice messages. It has long been rumored that this feature will be added, but QQ has added it. It is already 2020, but WeChat has not made any progress. A friend sends a long message, and the important content is only in the last few seconds. But if you want to listen again, you have to start from the beginning again. If there is a progress bar, you can directly drag it to the end to listen.

● Other complaints about voice: There is no time display when recording voice, voice cannot be forwarded, and voice can only be collected but not saved.

Regarding group messages: Can you give me a quick entry?

● Group messaging trouble: How many people accidentally created a chat group just because they wanted to send a group message? My mother added a bunch of people to a group just because she wanted to send a group message. To send a group message, I have to go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Group Message Assistant. Can't I just click on the entrance?

What are the unpleasant things in WeChat groups?

● Strangers cannot have temporary conversations like QQ, they have to add friends to chat. Sometimes, if you want to ask someone in the group a question, you have to add a friend to talk. However, this is a double-edged sword, because if temporary conversations can be made, the WeChat of some key figures in the group will keep ringing, plus harassment problems, so it is best to add a switch when this function is available.

● When there are few people, users are forced to join the group without their consent. After joining the group, the phone keeps ringing. Is it possible to ensure that users need to agree to join the group regardless of the number of people in the group?

● When there are too many group messages, if there is a message addressed to me, you cannot jump directly to that message.

● There is no option to completely block the group: you can only disable messages, and group members who chat and fight with pictures in the group are constantly consuming your data and storage space. That’s not all, there are always little red dots popping up and sorting to the top of the chat list.

● There is no function to block a group member individually, and the administrator cannot ban a member. I have seen two members of a group quarreling for a whole day, and the only way to deal with it was to block the group.

● There is no unified group file function. The group file function in QQ is very useful and convenient for group members to share files and information. In WeChat, you can only rely on searching the chat history to find the required files.

● Anyone can modify the group name. This reminds me of a joke that happened when the parent group was first established. A parent wanted to add a note to the group, but chose to modify the group name, and ended up changing the group name to XXX school group. The teacher changed it, and then changed it back, until the teacher said in the group, "Please don't modify the group name."

● You cannot search for groups like QQ.

● After logging in with a new phone, the groups that were not saved in the address book could not be found. You had to wait for someone in the group to speak before you could see them. One of the editor's groups had no one speaking for a long time. If the editor wanted to use it, he had to ask a member of the group to send a message to the group first to "activate" the group.

Remember to save important information: expired files will be cleared

● The teachers sent me a file in the group, but I was too busy to save it. When I checked it a few days later, I was shocked to see that the file had expired or had been cleaned up. I tolerated the file sent in the group, but I couldn’t tolerate the file being expired when I sent it privately. Can’t I set a switch to let users choose whether to automatically save files locally?

Next is Moments. Checking the daily status shared by friends in Moments is something many users do every day. However, the chances of WeChat merchants flooding the Moments are too high, coupled with random official advertisements, which is like "movies inserted in advertisements". ● What does it have to do with me if someone else likes a post? After you like someone else's Moments, if your WeChat friends also like that Moments, WeChat will "kindly" tell you that you can block them afterwards, but the problem is that you need to block them one by one, which is not necessary at all.

● You cannot set the viewing range for a friend's Moments individually, you can only set it for all friends together, and they can only view it for three days. I want to allow a friend to have the permission to view all my Moments, but it is not possible.

● You can only like in Moments: Sometimes when you see a friend post something unfortunate, should you like it or not? Why can't you have other interactions like hugs? And why is there no function to dislike? It would be best if you could dislike anonymously.

● The most common complaint among users is that they cannot post original pictures on Moments. After being compressed by WeChat, some photos become horrible.

● You can only post 15-second videos in Moments, which is too short. However, you can now use Video Account and Weishi to bypass the 15-second limit and post 30-second or 60-second videos.

● You can’t post GIFs in Moments. If you see a good-looking GIF, you can’t share it in Moments. I guess Tencent will not open this up again. Last time, Moments comments were allowed to be animated, but a lot of people commented on indescribable animated pictures, so it was closed. Oh, by the way, posting indescribable pictures in Moments is considered spreading obscene materials, and the police will come to your door!

● If I want to see the Moments of friends that I focus on, I have to search through dozens or hundreds of Moments of friends, or check them one by one? If Moments are grouped, I can view the Moments of the people I want to focus on at once, which is great.

The longer I use it, the fatter I get! When can I lose weight?

● As we all know, whether it is WeChat on mobile phones or WeChat PC, as the usage time increases, the disk space occupied will increase. It is not uncommon to occupy more than GB of space. I once saw a relative occupying more than 10 GB of space when I was helping him clean up his phone. Although the built-in storage space cleaning function can reduce the size, WeChat still takes up a lot of space after the reduction.

Personal and work, switching between two accounts is too troublesome

● Many people have two WeChat accounts, one for personal use and one for work use. Switching back and forth is very troublesome. So many users use multiple-account software, but recently using multiple-account software may lead to WeChat account suspension. Can there be an official dual-account WeChat version? Although I know this is a luxury.

● The chat history in WeChat is a big problem. When you change your phone, the chat history is transferred very slowly, and you can only use a computer to back up the chat history. If you forget to back up or lose your phone, the chat history will be completely lost. It is troublesome that there is no chat history cloud storage function. Can't there be a chat history cloud backup function? Although this function may be exclusive to members.

Can you do it more thoroughly? Questionable operation of blocking friends

● I deleted or blocked a contact, but the contact is still in the other party's contact list. Why is this? Because of this, there are even a lot of tools to check who deleted you and who blocked you. Can't the user block or delete the contact and remove it from the other party's WeChat at the same time?

There are also places to complain about the computer version of WeChat

● WeChat PC version does not have an account and password login function: You have to scan the QR code with your mobile phone. If I am in a hurry to use WeChat PC version, it may be because I can't use my mobile phone, so isn't it a trap to ask me to scan the QR code with my mobile phone?
