Apple's 2022 product line leaked! Transformation to Apple Silicon within two years, goodbye Intel

It’s fine to be low-key, but when will we be able to transition to Apple SIlicon?

In the latest issue of Bloomberg's Power On newsletter, author Mark Gurman believes that Apple does not actually need a two-year transition period.

With Apple's strength, it is easy to completely transition the entire Mac product line to Apple Silicon.

So the purpose of stating the estimated transition time as longer is to lower everyone's expectations, so that Apple can appear to be "quick"!

Where is the transition?

So where is the Apple Silicon "progress bar" at this stage?

So far, Apple's M1 chip has been used in the entry-level MacBook Pro, Mac mini, MacBook Air, and 24-inch iMac.

The first batch of M1 Macs debuted in November 2020, so according to the estimated time, Apple may complete the transition by November 2022.

In the coming months, Apple will release a new Macbook Pro equipped with the M1X chip.

A new high-end Mac mini will also be launched soon.

It is expected that the entire iMac product line will be fully powered by Apple chips by the end of 2022.

Later next year, a new Mac Pro equipped with Apple Silicon will also be launched in a smaller size.

Apple will continue to update the current Intel-powered Mac Pro.

It is likely to be powered by Intel Ice Lake Xeon W-3300 CPU.

In other words, the Apple Silicon and Intel platform product lines will run in parallel.

Needless to say, a Mac Pro powered by Apple's own chips will be even smaller.

The form factor is roughly half the size of the current Mac Pro and uses the same design language.

Earlier reports said that Apple is currently developing 20-core and 40-core chips that will be used in the smaller Mac Pro.

Apple SIlicon: Another change

In fact, before Apple launched Apple Silicon, Mac had undergone two changes.

First is the PowerPC architecture.

Later, it switched to Intel processors.

Now is the time to transition from Intel to Apple Silicon.

During this two-year transition period, Apple will still retain basic Mac OS interactions.

But the design will be closer to iPad OS/iPhone OS.

In terms of ecology, Universal 2, Rosetta 2, Virtualization and Catalyst can help Apple survive this transition period.
