At 18:00 on July 8, the China Meteorological Administration issued a meteorological risk warning for geological disasters, an orange warning for heavy rain, and a meteorological warning for flash floods. Stay safe everyone!

The Central Meteorological Observatory continued to issue an orange rainstorm warning at 18:00 on July 8:

It is predicted that from 20:00 on July 8 to 20:00 on July 9, there will be heavy to torrential rain in central and northern Jiangxi, northern Fujian, central and southern Zhejiang, Shanghai, central Hunan, central and southern Guizhou, northern Guangxi, western and northeastern Yunnan, southern Sichuan, as well as central and western North China. Among them, there will be heavy rainstorms in parts of eastern central Jiangxi, southwestern Zhejiang, northwestern Fujian, southwestern Hunan, southeastern Guizhou, etc., and there will be extremely heavy rainstorms (250-280 mm) in some local areas of northeastern Jiangxi and other places. Some of the above-mentioned areas will be accompanied by short-term heavy rainfall (maximum hourly rainfall of 40 to 60 mm, and more than 80 mm in some local areas), and local strong convective weather such as thunderstorms and strong winds.

It is predicted that from 20:00 on July 8 to 20:00 on July 9, there is a high possibility of flash floods in parts of southwestern Zhejiang, northwestern Fujian, eastern Jiangxi, western Hunan, eastern Guizhou and other areas. Among them, there is a high possibility of flash floods in parts of southwestern Zhejiang, northwestern Fujian, and eastern Jiangxi. All localities are requested to pay attention to real-time monitoring, flood prevention and warning, evacuation and other preventive measures.

It is expected that from 20:00 on July 8 to 20:00 on July 9, the meteorological risk of geological disasters in central and western Zhejiang, southern Anhui, northern Jiangxi, eastern and southwestern Hubei, western and northern Hunan, southeastern Chongqing, southern Sichuan, central and eastern Guizhou, and western Yunnan will be high (yellow warning). Among them, the meteorological risk of local geological disasters in western Zhejiang, southern Anhui, northern Jiangxi, southeastern Hubei, western Hunan, and eastern Guizhou will be high (orange warning). Local residents are advised to take precautions against geological disasters caused by precipitation, especially in areas near potential geological disaster sites.
