I believe that the quality of the house will not be very good, and it will collapse when it reaches a certain height.

In any era, if you want to stand out, you must think about three words: differentiation. If everyone is doing this and there are a lot of people doing it, then the cost you have to pay if you want to stand out will be very, very high. Therefore, whether we are starting a business , writing, or building a personal brand, we must think about this question: What is the difference between me and others? For example, I can provide speech training. My speech training is different from others. Many people may teach you how to prepare a manuscript, how to give a speech on stage, what gestures are like, and what body language is like. Of course, I will also teach these. But my focus is not here. What I teach is impromptu speaking. Through a lot of training, you will be able to give relatively good impromptu speeches on many occasions. This is what makes me different from others. Many people may think that I have a lot of competitors. In fact, I don’t think I have too many competitors because what I do is different from others. For example, if I run a WeChat public account , many people will see that my goal is to interview 100 great people and summarize the essence of 100 books this year. This is definitely different from others. First, there are not many authors who write interviews. Even if there are many, it is impossible for them to be as many as me because I don’t work. Without this expense, I would not have the ability or vision that I have now, let alone the ability to gain 100,000 followers in more than 4 months. Many students may ask, I am still a student, what should I do if I have no money? In fact, students can also do part-time jobs, earn some money, and then invest in themselves, because instead of using your spare time to play games , you might as well use it to earn some money and then study. Also, a lot of expenses are unnecessary. If you save a little, you can use the money you save to buy books or take an affordable online course.

Therefore, each of us must forge our own dragon-slaying sword. When you have your own core skills, then do other things. First, you will be more confident and full of confidence. Second, after you enter a circle, you will have your own exchange value. Don't go to a circle just to hang out with others. When others ask you what you can do, you stammer and can't answer. Then there is not much practical significance in just hanging out in this circle.

Recently I have seen that time management is very popular, and various apps, tools , and methods are recommended. I think the more and more complicated the methods are, the harder it is to manage time. Moreover, once a method becomes complicated, it is impossible to remember it and its operability is also very poor. This reminds me of when I was practicing Kung Fu in the past, many people might like to pursue routines, and they wanted to fight in a particularly beautiful way. But some people simply practice one or two moves, such as a particularly powerful right straight punch, or a particularly fierce and accurate side kick. So when the former competes against the latter, if they have trained for the same amount of time and have similar physical fitness, then the latter will definitely have a big advantage. I remember when I was training my arm strength, many people said there were various methods, such as using dumbbells. In fact, I just used a very simple method, which was to shake my arms every day, up and down, for half an hour a day, and I didn't feel tired. Many people said to use equipment or something, but I thought it was quite complicated. After shaking for a few months, my arms became very swollen and very strong. Another thing is reading. Many people have not read much but want to read, so they look for some reading methods and buy a lot of books to teach you how to read. There are various methods to improve reading speed and so on. But to be honest, I have read those books too, and if you read too few books, they won't be of much help to you. If you really want to read very quickly and improve your reading comprehension skills, you have to read more. Don’t think too much, just read. After reading dozens of books, your reading speed will naturally increase and your ability will be greatly improved. Everyone knows that I am an independent interviewer. When I was still unknown, I had already interviewed some very awesome people. How did I do it? When your strength is not strong enough, you can only impress others by being grateful and showing your sincerity. To be honest, this society is very cruel. If you are not strong enough, no matter how grateful and sincere you are, others will ignore you. In the adult world, value exchange is a very important rule. Therefore, we must not forget to be lazy and work hard to improve our own abilities. Only when you have really grown up will others notice you, only when you are really powerful will others respect you, and only when you can provide very good value will others think of you often.

I often say that the most frightening thing in life is that you only see the world from a narrow perspective and yet enjoy it. By the way, there is another saying: many times it is not that you can’t, but that you don’t know. If your vision is too narrow, you will not know many possibilities and will not have high expectations for yourself. If your vision is broadened, you will have higher expectations for yourself and you will know many paths. People who have high expectations of themselves and those who have low expectations of themselves put in different amounts of effort. For example, when I open my horizons, I find that there are so many awesome people and so many paths to be awesome, so I will try my best to catch up and act desperately, and I dare not slack off. So how do we broaden our horizons? In fact, for friends in first- and second-tier cities, this is not a big problem. You can join various reading clubs, participate in more activities, attend training, or participate in various sharing sessions and communities online. What about people in more remote areas? There are very few offline activities, so what should we do? You can join various communities to see what people are like outside. Secondly, go out more often when you have time, and visit big cities during holidays. For me, if a city has opened an online channel with many experts, I will make an appointment online in advance with the people I want to meet. Sometimes, listening to one person's words is worth more than reading for ten years.

In fact, you are already an expert in this field. Because nowadays there are not many people who can read a book repeatedly. Of course, this is not enough. You also need to search the Internet for experts in related fields to see what they have written and what courses they offer. You can even participate in their training, so that you can quickly enter a field and become a small expert, and then improve yourself by sharing it, because sharing is different from learning by yourself. When sharing, you have to consider whether others can understand it. Teaching is equal to learning for the second time, and teaching is equal to learning at a higher level. Last November, I gave a presentation at the Ten O'clock Master Class of the Ten O'clock Reading Club. The title of the presentation was: 400 Days to Become a Master Speech Master. Because of this presentation, I posted it on the Ten O'clock Reading Club's official account and Jianshu. For example, if you want to improve your writing skills, don't expect to be able to write good works by taking writing classes, participating in writing training, or reading a few books on writing methods. Just keep writing. If ten articles are not enough, write a hundred. After writing more, you will naturally become awesome. If we ordinary people want to be better than others, all we can do is work harder and do more than others. Once again, there can be no breakthrough in quality without accumulation of quantity.

Many people have this habit. They think they must prepare everything before doing anything. In fact, this is impossible. No preparation can be perfect, and you don’t even know whether the preparation is sufficient or correct. Only when you actually do it, can you discover what is really needed in reality, what we need to prepare, what capabilities we need to improve, and what resources we need to connect with. Many times, we lose our initial enthusiasm while waiting and preparing, and then we just give up and stop doing it. Many times, we keep waiting and the opportunity becomes someone else's. We can never be fully prepared. What we can do is to set off now. Only on the road will we know what scenery we will see, what people we will meet, and what we need to do. Only on the road can we truly improve ourselves. Speaking of this, I would like to share with you a philosophy of survival that a master gave me. He said that before the age of thirty, you must learn to give up quickly. Many times we don’t know what we really want or what we should do. We can only keep trying and try whatever we think of. After trying, you will find out whether you can do it, whether you want to do it, and whether you like doing it. The time cost of giving up quickly is not high, just like falling in love. For example, a girl has had dozens of relationships, but none of them has ended in marriage. However, some people may meet the person they will spend their life with after one or two, or two or three relationships. We can’t stop doing something just because we are afraid of failure or giving up. We have to do it. No matter what we do, we will know whether this thing is yours. It’s like eating at a buffet, with dozens of dishes in front of you. It’s not good to take too many and it won’t be a waste. You should only take a small bite of each and after taking a lot, you will know which ones you like. Then you can find the ones you like and take more. When I thought about doing the interview, I did it immediately. I didn't wait. To be honest, if I had kept dragging it out and kept waiting due to the pressure and doubts from people around me, I might have given up. But at that time, I just did it when I wanted to. I felt that it wouldn't be a big loss if I failed. Every interview is a learning opportunity. Now thinking about it, it's a good thing that I did it when I wanted to. It's like meeting a girl or a guy on the subway, and you particularly like his or her appearance. If you don't ask for their contact information at that time, maybe you will only meet once in this life and miss each other.
