Interpretation of local weather

Let’s look at the details——

Heilongjiang

Expert: Ma Guozhong, chief forecaster of Heilongjiang Provincial Meteorological Observatory

What is the difference between this round of snowfall and previous rounds?

Answer: It is expected that from December 9 to 10, Heilongjiang Province will have a light to moderate snowfall from west to east, with moderate to heavy snowfall in some areas. At the same time, some areas in the southern part of the province will have sleet or wet snow. Compared with previous rounds of snowfall, this snowfall process has the following characteristics:

The snowfall lasted for a short time. This process was mainly affected by the rapid eastward movement of the high-altitude trough. The snowfall lasted for a short time. Snow fell from west to east in Heilongjiang Province within 24 hours.

The snowfall amount is small. During this process, there will be moderate snow in the central and western parts of Heilongjiang Province (snowfall is 2-4 mm), heavy snow in some areas (5-6 mm), and light snow (1-2 mm) in most other areas.

After this snowfall, the temperature will drop significantly. From 10th to 12th, the temperature in most parts of the province will drop by 8-10℃, and locally by 10-14℃. In the later period, there will be frequent activities of cold and warm air, and the temperature will fluctuate greatly.

Has there been more snowfall in Heilongjiang since November?

Answer: According to statistics, from 8:00 on November 1 to 8:00 on December 9, the average precipitation in Heilongjiang Province was 41.7 mm, 256.4% more than the same period in history (11.7 mm). The precipitation in the central and western parts was relatively large.

Compared with the same period in history, precipitation in Beiji Village, Mohe, Huma, and Jiamusi was 10% to 40% less, 50% to 90% more in the central part of Daxinganling, Sunwu, Nehe, Binxian, and Shangzhi, and 1 to 7 times more in other areas.

What impact will it have on local production and life?

Answer: There is heavy snowfall in central Heilongjiang Province, with low visibility in some areas. There is sleet or wet snow in parts of the south and east, and the roads are slippery. Some sections of the road are icy, which has an impact on transportation, urban operations, etc.

The temperature has dropped significantly. Epidemic prevention personnel are requested to keep warm. The public should pay attention to preventing respiratory, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. When using coal for heating, be careful to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning.

Snow should be cleared promptly in agricultural facilities, dilapidated houses, etc., and livestock and poultry should be kept warm from the cold.

Gansu

Expert: Huang Yuxia, Chief Forecaster and Senior Engineer of Lanzhou Central Meteorological Observatory

When is the heaviest snowfall?

Answer: From the night of the 9th to the day of the 11th, Tianshui, Pingliang, and Qingyang will be cloudy to overcast with moderate snow, and heavy snow in some areas; Gannan, Linxia, Dingxi, Longnan and other places will be cloudy to overcast with light snow (rain) or sleet, and moderate snow in some areas; Lanzhou and Baiyin will be sunny to cloudy, and some areas will be cloudy with light snow, including moderate snow in the southern part of Baiyin City; other areas will be sunny to cloudy, and the Qilian Mountains area will be cloudy with light snow.

From the night of the 11th to the day of the 12th, it will be cloudy in Gannan, Linxia, Dingxi, Wuwei and other places, with light snow in some areas.

Among them, the heaviest snowfall period was from day to night on the 10th.

Where are the areas affected by heavy snowfall mainly concentrated?

Answer: There will be moderate snow in Tianshui, Pingliang and Qingyang, and heavy snow in some local areas. The public needs to take precautions.

What impact will it have on local production and life?

Answer: Snowfall and cooling weather will increase energy demand, and energy supply and scheduling need to be strengthened, while attention should be paid to preventing the adverse effects of snowfall on energy facilities. Residents who use coal for heating should take good care to keep warm, and pay attention to the safety of electricity and fire to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning.

Rainy and snowy weather causes low visibility, slippery roads, and snow and ice on roads, which have adverse effects on transportation and urban operations, and we need to strengthen prevention. In addition, we need to guard against the adverse effects of snowfall and cooling weather on facility agriculture and animal husbandry.

Shaanxi

Expert: Pan Liujie, Chief Forecaster of Shaanxi Provincial Meteorological Observatory

How is the phase transition between rain and snow?

Answer: Affected by the convergence of cold and warm air, it is predicted that parts of northern Shaanxi will have light to moderate snow (0-3 mm), moderate to heavy snow (3-8 mm) in central and southern Shaanxi and northern Guanzhong, heavy snow (8-11 mm) in Ganquan, Baota District of Yan'an City, Huangling and other places, light to moderate rain or sleet (5-15 mm) in the Guanzhong Plain and low-altitude areas in southern Shaanxi, and heavy snow (10-13 mm) in some parts of the Qinba Mountains (Taibai, Fengxian, Zhouzhi, Ningshan).

From 8:00 to 17:00 on the 10th, rain and snow mainly occurred in the central part of northern Shaanxi, Guanzhong, and western southern Shaanxi. From the night of the 10th to the early morning of the 11th, rain and snow mainly occurred in Guanzhong and southeastern southern Shaanxi.

Where are the areas affected by the blizzard mainly concentrated?

Answer: The heavy snow will mainly occur in local areas in southern northern Shaanxi and local areas in the western section of the Qinling Mountains.

What impact will it have on local production and life?

Answer: There will be heavy snow in some parts of central and southern northern Shaanxi and the Qinling Mountains, with deep snow accumulation. There will be a transition from rain to snow in Guanzhong and southern Shaanxi, and the precipitation phase is complex. Special attention should be paid to prevent the adverse effects of slippery roads, snow and ice accumulation, and low visibility on traffic.

Relevant departments are requested to make good responses to reduce the adverse effects of rain, snow and cooling weather on facility agriculture, animal husbandry, etc. The public should pay close attention to the latest forecast and warning information issued by the meteorological department, pay attention to cold protection and keep warm to ensure travel safety.

Overall

This cold front has strong winds

Temperature drops significantly in some areas

Southeastern part of Northwest China, western part of North China

and the central and northern parts of the Northeast

Also be careful of slippery roads, snow and ice, etc.
