A good start to the new year! my country's second Hualong One nuclear power unit is connected to the grid for power generation

At 22:35:38 on January 1, my country's self-developed third-generation nuclear power "Hualong One" had a good start in the new year: CNNC Fuqing Nuclear Power Unit 6 was successfully connected to the grid for the first time and began to send the first kilowatt-hour of electricity to the grid, becoming the world's third and my country's second "Hualong One" grid-connected generator unit.

After on-site confirmation, all technical indicators meet the design requirements and the unit is in good condition, laying a solid foundation for its subsequent formal commercial operation.

As my country's "national business card" for nuclear power to go global, "Hualong One" is one of the third-generation nuclear power models with the highest acceptance in the current nuclear power market. The world's first "Hualong One" reactor, Fuqing Nuclear Power Unit 5, and the first overseas "Hualong One" reactor, Karachi Unit 2 in Pakistan, were put into commercial operation in 2021.

Each Hualong One unit has an installed capacity of 1.161 million kilowatts and an annual power generation capacity of nearly 10 billion kWh, which can meet the annual production and living electricity needs of 1 million people in a moderately developed country. This is equivalent to reducing standard coal consumption by 3.12 million tons and carbon dioxide emissions by 8.16 million tons each year, which is equivalent to planting more than 70 million trees. It is of great significance to optimize China's energy structure, promote green and low-carbon development, and help achieve the goals of "carbon peak and carbon neutrality".

On February 28, 2016, the No. 6 unit of the Hualong One Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant successfully achieved FCD

On May 25, 2016, the first hoisting of the steel lining module of the No. 6 unit of Hualong One Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant was completed.

On August 3, 2016, the second hoisting of the steel lining module of the No. 6 unit of Hualong One Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant was completed.
