Not to mention the 1 yuan rush to buy in major live broadcast rooms mentioned in the email, which makes people wonder what the cost of the product is...

So, our daily chemical researcher checked the ingredients of this product, and was surprised to find that... there was nothing wrong with it, and they were all good stuff.

However, the biggest problem lies with retinol, one of the “good things”. As we mentioned in the popular science article “C in the morning and A in the evening” written last year, retinol is highly irritating to the skin and tolerance needs to be established before use, not to mention the delicate eye area!

We searched every corner of the product details page and found no relevant reminders at all.

As for these “cheap” but “miraculously effective” eye cream products, there are actually many more…

On the last day of 2021, the National Medical Products Administration issued the "Announcement on the Catalogue of Class I Medical Device Products (No. 158 of 2021)", which clarified the deletion of "medical cold compress patches, cold compress gels" and other examples of product names, and announced a list of banned ingredients.

This means that Class I medical devices can no longer be called "medical cold compresses" on the market. In addition, related Class I medical devices are not allowed to contain ingredients such as traditional Chinese medicine, natural plants and their extracts, hyaluronic acid, collagen, ceramide, and brown algae oligosaccharides.

When registering Class II and Class III dressings, the provincial or national drug regulatory authorities will conduct multiple reviews of their safety, effectiveness, and quality controllability, and will only decide whether to approve the application after passing them.

Some brands, in order to get approval easily, directly apply for Class I. Class I cold compresses can only be used for physical cooling, the ingredients cannot be absorbed, they cannot play a pharmacological role, and they cannot be used on broken skin.

However, the phenomenon of mixed sales of Class I, Class II, and Class III dressings in WeChat Moments and major shopping platforms is simply too common! Even if ordinary consumers buy them home, they cannot tell the difference at all!

However, according to the announcement of the Food and Drug Administration, this phenomenon will no longer exist from April 1 this year. Again, there is no need to use dressings on healthy skin; problematic skin needs to be used under the guidance of a doctor.

The truth is——

1. Steaming to detoxify? It only removes water

2. Detoxifying beauty capsules to treat acne and pigmentation? Experts say it is unrealistic

3. Can foot patches detoxify and remove dampness? They change color when exposed to water

4. Massage lymph nodes to detoxify? It’s a false concept

Many beauty salons and medical beauty institutions have "lymphatic detoxification" programs, claiming that lymphatic massage can refine the skin on the neck and even have a detoxifying effect.

However, experts believe that lymphatic detoxification is a false concept. Massaging the lymph nodes casually can easily damage the capillary lymphatic network, causing swollen lymph nodes and causing pain in certain related parts of the body.
