At 20:50 on June 5, 2022, the Shenzhou XIV astronaut crew successfully entered the Tianhe core module, and it has been a month since then. In the past month, the astronauts have carried out the establishment of the manned environment, the maintenance and care of the space station platform, and space science experiments in an orderly manner. They have made full preparations for the subsequent robotic arm operation, extravehicular activities, and module transfer. Establishing a manned environment The first task for the Shenzhou-14 astronaut crew after entering the cabin is to establish the manned environment of the core cabin. They need to set the core cabin assembly to a manned state and set up the ventilation and purification, regeneration life support and water circulation treatment related equipment and products. The astronauts conducted water sample, air and surface microbial tests in orbit. In the space home, some microorganisms may affect the health of astronauts and even be corrosive, causing pollution and damage to various equipment. Therefore, it is necessary to monitor microorganisms regularly to ensure the safety and comfort of the astronauts' living environment in orbit. In addition, during this mission, the astronauts installed and tested a carbon dioxide reduction device, which can reduce and regenerate carbon dioxide on orbit, further improving the closed degree of the material cycle of oxygen on orbit. Water microbial sampling On-orbit installation and testing of the CO2 reduction device Material sorting and transfer The astronaut crew also completed the sorting and transfer of supplies and organized the various cargo packages in the cabin. The Shenzhou-14 astronaut crew officially used the material management system during this mission. The material management system was used to classify and sort out the materials of the entire station, which improved the management level of the space station and helped the astronauts free up more energy to focus on on-orbit scientific experiments and other work. Conduct scientific experiments At present, astronauts are carrying out magnetic levitation experiments in high-precision cabinets, material science experiments in containerless cabinets, and aerospace medicine experiments. In the future, with the launch of the Wentian and Mengtian laboratory modules into orbit and the completion of the construction of the Tiangong space station, astronauts will complete the unlocking and installation of more than 10 scientific experiment cabinets, support the conduct of single or multidisciplinary space science experiments, and reach the international advanced level as a whole. High micro cabinet suspension test bench Extravehicular space suit inspection test So far, the second-generation "Feitian" extravehicular suits in the Chinese space station complex have been tested by the two astronaut crews of Shenzhou XII and 13 for a total of four extravehicular missions. The Shenzhou XIV astronaut crew will also complete the extravehicular mission wearing the "Feitian" extravehicular suits. At present, the astronauts are inspecting and testing their extravehicular space suits. After the Wentian laboratory module docks with the space station complex, the astronauts will enter space from the airlock of the Wentian laboratory module and complete extravehicular activities. On-orbit physical examination and medical training The work on orbit is busy, but the physical health of astronauts is also very important. In order to monitor the health status of astronauts and take corresponding intervention measures in time, "physical examination" has become an indispensable task. In addition to basic "physical examination items", medical rescue on-orbit training is also essential. All designs and operating procedures for manned space activities are centered on ensuring the physical health and life safety of astronauts. In addition to ground training, astronauts also need to maintain training while in orbit to deal with various emergencies. Astronaut fundus examination Medical rescue on-orbit training On-track training Currently, the Shenzhou 14 astronaut crew works six days a week. With various tasks and tasks running in parallel, keeping moving and exercising can better ensure the astronauts' health in orbit. As the Wentian laboratory module is about to be put into place, the astronauts are preparing themselves to welcome the arrival of the first laboratory module of China's space station with full spirits. Among the crew members of Shenzhou 14, Chen Dong and Liu Yang are born in the year of the horse, while Cai Xuzhe is born in the year of the dragon, so they are affectionately called the "Dragon and Horse Spirit" crew by netizens. During their stay in orbit, they will fully complete the construction of the Tiangong space station with the Tianhe core module, the Wentian laboratory module and the Mengtian laboratory module as the basic configuration, and build a national space laboratory. At present, everything is going smoothly for the astronauts’ first month of work and life. Let us look forward to the astronauts’ next wonderful performance and wish them all the best in their work during their time in orbit! |
