Tianzhou-5 cargo spacecraft successfully rendezvoused and docked!

The Long March 7 Yao-6 carrier rocket carrying the Tianzhou-5 cargo spacecraft ignited and launched on time at 10:03 on November 12 at the Wenchang Space Launch Center in my country. About 10 minutes later, the ship and rocket separated successfully and entered the predetermined orbit. The spacecraft's solar panels began to work smoothly, and the launch was a complete success.

Later, the Tianzhou-5 cargo spacecraft completed autonomous rapid rendezvous and docking with the space station complex. This was the first time that Chinese astronauts welcomed a cargo spacecraft at the space station.

The Tianzhou-5 cargo spacecraft carries consumables, propellants, application (test) equipment and other supplies for the three astronauts of Shenzhou-15 for six months of in-orbit stay. It also carries such experimental projects as the "Macao Student Science Satellite No. 1", hydrogen and oxygen fuel cells for aerospace, and a space wide energy spectrum high-energy particle detection payload.

This is the 26th launch mission of my country's manned space program and the 449th flight of the Long March series of launch vehicles.

New record for China's space program! Xichang Satellite Launch Center completes 200th launch mission

my country successfully launched the Tianzhou-5 cargo spacecraft in Wenchang, Hainan on the morning of the 12th. So far, the Xichang Satellite Launch Center has completed 200 launch missions, becoming the first space launch center in my country to complete 200 launches, setting a new record in China's space history.

The Xichang Satellite Launch Center was established in December 1970. It currently manages two space launch sites, Xichang and Wenchang. It has sent hundreds of domestic and foreign spacecraft into space to date. It is the satellite launch center in my country that has launched the most satellites and was the earliest to open to the outside world.

On the evening of April 8, 1984, the Long March 3 rocket launched the Dongfanghong 2 experimental communications satellite into space from the Daliang Mountains in Sichuan, marking the first successful launch of the Xichang Satellite Launch Center. Since then, the center has successfully launched my country's first international commercial satellite Asia-1, my country's first Beidou satellite, Chang'e-1, etc. The number of launches exceeded 100 in November 2016.

It took the Xichang Satellite Launch Center 32 years to go from "1" to "100", and only 6 years to go from "100" to "200". "This is the speed of China's space industry," said Dong Chongqing, Party Secretary of the Xichang Satellite Launch Center. The significant reduction in completion time fully reflects the continuous improvement of their test and launch capabilities.

In 2016, the Long March 7 carrier rocket made its maiden flight at the Wenchang Space Launch Center, marking the official commissioning of my country's independently designed and built new generation space launch center. In recent years, this launch center has ushered in a high-density launch period, successfully sending the Tianhe core module, Wentian and Mengtian laboratory modules into space, contributing to the Chinese having their own space station in space.

According to Deng Hongqin, director of the Xichang Satellite Launch Center, in the next step, they will also focus on expanding the construction content around the new generation of manned rocket launch stations and heavy rocket launch stations, and simultaneously carry out the construction of supporting soft and hard power systems to provide strong support for China's aerospace projects such as sky survey telescopes, manned lunar landings, deep space exploration, planetary exploration, space station construction, application and development, and low-orbit Internet constellations.
