Latest international research: Humans use quantum computers to simulate holographic wormholes for the first time

Perhaps, everyone has more or less fantasized about "traveling through time and space"?

Today, holographic wormhole research has appeared on the cover of Nature and was called "the first wormhole ever created" by Quanta Magazine.

Although this experiment simulated a quantum wormhole in a quantum state, also known as a "micro wormhole", which cannot travel through time and space, it is also a major breakthrough in the history of human physics.

Recently, a paper published in the British magazine Nature reported for the first time the use of a quantum processor to perform quantum "simulation" of a holographic wormhole .

The quantum simulation was performed using a quantum computer with a 9-qubit circuit. The dynamics of the qubits as they were transported through this processor were the same as they would be if the qubits were traveling through a traversable wormhole.

The demonstration, which used Google's Sycamore processor, is a step closer to studying quantum gravity in the laboratory .

At the same time, Stanford University scientist Adam Brown said that the experiment demonstrated for the first time the potential feasibility of using quantum computers to test quantum gravity theory in the future .

Q

What is a quantum computer?

A

A quantum computer is a physical device that follows the laws of quantum mechanics to perform high-speed mathematical and logical operations, store and process quantum information. When a device processes and calculates quantum information and runs quantum algorithms, it is a quantum computer.

The main characteristics of quantum computers are fast operation speed, strong information processing ability, and wide application range . Compared with ordinary computers, the more information processing capacity a quantum computer has, the more advantageous it is for it to perform calculations, and the more accurate the calculations can be.

Turning our attention to China, our research on quantum computers is in full swing. According to Science and Technology Daily, my country's quantum computer "Wukong" is about to be released, and my country's first quantum chip production line is producing "Wukong Core", a quantum chip supporting "Wukong".

The production line uses the country's first NDPT-100 non-destructive probe electrical measurement platform dedicated to quantum chip production, referred to as the "non-destructive probe station", which can identify the quality of quantum chips with almost zero damage, and can be called "eagle eyes and golden pupils".

Quantum Information

It is precisely because of the significant advantages of quantum technology that this year's Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded to French physicist Alain Aspect, American physicist John F. Clauser and Austrian physicist Anton Zeilinger in recognition of their determination through photon entanglement experiments that Bell's inequality does not hold in the quantum world and their pioneering of the discipline of quantum information .

In the future, I believe that more research will be discovered and proven, technology will continue to develop and progress, and human exploration will never stop!
