It’s time to go to work again! How sad, confused, and painful! Why is the holiday so short? Before I have time to experience it carefully, I am back to working life again... Although many people keep saying that in the new year, they will change and work hard! But after actually lying down for a week, they found that doing nothing is the real happiness! Today officially marks the beginning of the "Year of the Rabbit" which means we have to work 384 days a day. So is there any way to quickly get rid of this state of lack of motivation, fatigue, laziness, etc. after the holiday? Dr. Chen Ting from the Mental Health Center of West China Hospital of Sichuan University said, yes, there is! But you have to do it! Why did you take leave? But can’t you get your heart back? Ask yourself, isn't it because you haven't had enough fun that you can't get your heart back? Having said that, it is indeed difficult to adjust to the right state immediately after the holiday. This is because of the "holiday syndrome", also known as the "post-holiday syndrome". Holiday syndrome refers to some physical and psychological discomfort symptoms that occur after a long vacation or holiday, including fatigue, insomnia, drowsiness, poor appetite, difficulty concentrating on work, abnormal muscle aches or rapid heartbeat, anxiety, emptiness, irritability, etc. Simply put, its effect is that after the holidays, people don't feel like going back to work, and even want to continue their vacation. In fact, this state does not only occur after the Chinese New Year when going to work. Some people have this state very obviously at ordinary times, such as "Monday syndrome". Because you had too much fun on the weekend or spent too much energy dealing with things other than work, when the weekend ends and Monday comes, you have to devote yourself to work and study again, and it is inevitable that you will feel more or less uncomfortable. To put it bluntly, both "holiday syndrome" and "Monday syndrome" are essentially the same thing, which is that you are not yet ready to start studying and working. How does the heart change during the holidays? What about the ones that flew far away? Looking back on the past few days, the good life was reflected to the fullest. Eat when you want to eat, sleep when you want to sleep, play games when you want to play games, watch a long drama when you want to watch a long drama, stay up all night when you want to stay up all night... There was no leader urging me to submit reports, and no clients asking me to change the plan. And because the time was short, my parents also seemed particularly kind! Isn't it just like this that the heart drifts to the distant place of happiness? But the heart can't be brought back after the holiday mainly because of two reasons: 01 Biological clock disorder An unhealthy lifestyle disrupts the normal biological clock and causes abnormal functioning of various organs in the body, resulting in physiological symptoms such as headaches, stomach pains, and dry eyes. In short, after letting yourself go, the relaxed body and mind cannot quickly adapt to the intense pace of study and work, and efficiency is not as good as before, which leads to anxiety and irritability. Anxiety and irritability will make it impossible for people to calm down to study and work, further aggravating the state of inefficiency. 02 Psychological factors In the days before the holidays, most people focus their energy on study and work, which puts them in a " dynamic stereotype " system. Dynamic stereotype refers to a temporary connection system established by the conditioned action of a fixed procedure, namely the "conditioned reflex system". The most direct manifestation is a normal work and rest schedule, and everything done at each time point is carried out step by step. But when the holidays come and the normal life pattern is disrupted, the state of letting go is turned on, which means that the previously established "motivational stereotype" is destroyed... After the holiday, we have to return to the original "dynamic pattern", so it is inevitable that we will feel uncomfortable! How fast How about taking your heart back? Vacations always end, just like the workday always comes. You can’t stop working just because you can’t focus on your life. Most modern people can’t be willful in their lives! In order to recover our condition quickly and improve our study and work efficiency, the most important thing is to make ourselves happy! You can start making adjustments from these aspects: Restore your biological clock After a holiday of "indulgence", you need to quickly restore your biological clock to normal; it is best to keep your biological clock consistent or close to your normal clock during the holiday to ensure the normal functioning of your body, so that you will not experience adverse reactions such as dizziness and headaches after work. (But it is a bit too late to say it now!) Organize and plan First of all, it is recommended to clean and tidy up your home or workstation on the first day of study or work. A tidy environment can calm our anxiety. Secondly, you can give yourself some quiet time or space to do some exercises related to study and work to help yourself transition back to your previous state, such as sorting out your schedule after work and the relevant information you need to know after work. Finally, write down a plan, write down the things you need to accomplish next one by one, and sort them by priority. Start studying and working according to the list. Once you have a direction and a clue, you will naturally feel at ease. Adjust your diet We ate too much meat and fish during the Chinese New Year. After work, we should eat more light food such as coarse grains to soothe our stomachs. We should also drink more water to speed up gastrointestinal metabolism and eat more fruits and vegetables to replenish the nutritional imbalance in the body. Adjustment status Get more sleep to give your brain a good rest; rest your eyes, control the time spent online, and eliminate eyestrain; reduce or avoid participating in highly exciting activities and strengthen self-regulation. Get some exercise Do more physical exercises that are beneficial to your physical and mental health, such as walking, jogging, swimming, etc., to get your body moving, and your mind will naturally return to normal. |
