Reporters learned from China National Offshore Oil Corporation that on the 1st, at the Enping 15-1 crude oil drilling and production platform, about 200 kilometers southwest of Shenzhen, carbon dioxide associated with oil field development was captured, separated, and pressurized to a supercritical state of gas-liquid mixture, and then reinjected into a "dome" geological structure 3 kilometers away from the platform and about 800 meters below the seabed, achieving long-term and stable storage. On the same day, China National Offshore Oil Corporation announced that my country's first million-ton offshore carbon dioxide storage project was put into use, with an annual storage capacity of 300,000 tons and a total of more than 1.5 million tons, equivalent to planting nearly 14 million trees. This marks that my country has successfully mastered the full set of technologies and equipment systems for offshore carbon dioxide capture, treatment, injection, storage and monitoring, and achieved an important breakthrough from scratch in my country's offshore carbon dioxide storage field. Enping 15-1 platform is the largest offshore crude oil drilling and production platform in Asia. The average water depth of the sea where it is located is about 80 meters. It is developing two oil fields, Enping 15-1 and Enping 10-2, at the same time, with a peak daily output of nearly 5,000 tons of crude oil. Wan Nianhui, general manager of CNOOC Enping Oilfield, said that the high carbon dioxide content crude oil production well of Enping 15-1 Oilfield was put into use at the same time as the carbon dioxide reinjection well. There are 4 such wells on the platform, and the carbon dioxide content of the associated gas produced is as high as 95%. If it is developed in the conventional mode, the carbon dioxide will be extracted from the ground along with the crude oil, causing greenhouse gas emissions. CNOOC independently developed and manufactured my country's first offshore carbon dioxide storage device, independently designed and implemented my country's first offshore carbon dioxide injection well, innovatively applied 7 domestically first technologies, and obtained 6 invention patents, opening the door to China's marine carbon storage treasure trove. Deng Changhong, deputy general manager of China National Offshore Oil Corporation Shenzhen Branch, said that China's sea areas have good crustal stability, wide distribution of sedimentary basins, thick strata, and many structural stratigraphic closures, which provide good geological conditions for storing carbon dioxide, with a storage potential of 2.58 trillion tons. Based on this, CNOOC has launched my country's first 10 million ton carbon capture and storage cluster project in Huizhou, Guangdong. In the future, it will capture carbon dioxide emitted in the Daya Bay area and transport it to the Pearl River Mouth Basin for storage through tank trucks, pipelines, ships, etc. (Reporters Dai Xiaohe and Yin Peng) |
