Definitely not.

In fact, what most of us non-medical professionals call "black and white ultrasound" is type B ultrasound, or "B-ultrasound" for short. The basic imaging principle of ultrasound is to express the reflected echoes generated when the sound beam encounters various interfaces in the propagation path as grayscale of light spots on the time axis of the oscilloscope screen, and the strength relationship of the interface echo is represented by grayscale. This is a two-dimensional image of grayscale modulation, which is reflected in the image as the change of black and white light and dark. The human body structure can be identified through the image. B-ultrasound is not a synonym for low-end, it is the basis of all ultrasound examinations and diagnoses.

Color Doppler ultrasound is referred to as "color ultrasound". It is a technology that adds color Doppler imaging function to the high-definition B-ultrasound. Color ultrasound can form color Doppler ultrasound blood flow images, which has the advantages of black and white ultrasound and can provide diagnostic information on hemodynamics. It is widely used in heart and blood vessel examinations.

Secondly, the imaging indicators of “black and white ultrasound” and color ultrasound are different.

At present, the main technical indicators of color ultrasound in the application process are higher than those of "black and white ultrasound", such as imaging dynamic range, number of probe chips, etc. These technical indicators can significantly improve the resolution of B-ultrasound images, allowing doctors to find small lesions earlier during examinations, and also observe the details of changes around or inside the lesions through higher-definition images.

Since color ultrasound has the function of blood flow imaging, it can well observe the anatomical structure of blood vessels, as well as changes in blood flow velocity and state. This information can improve doctors' ability to diagnose diseases, thereby improving the accuracy of diagnosis.
