1Cold wave orange warning!

The Central Meteorological Observatory issued an orange cold wave warning at 06:00 on February 18: Affected by the strong cold air, it is expected that from February 18 to 22, most parts of China will experience a sharp drop in temperature from west to east and from north to south, with the average temperature generally dropping by 8 to 12°C . The temperature in the southern Xinjiang Basin, most of Inner Mongolia, the eastern part of the Northwest, most of North China, Northeast China, Huanghuai, Jianghuai, Jianghan, Jiangnan, central and northern South China and Guizhou will drop by 12 to 18°C. Among them, the cumulative temperature drop in parts of central and eastern Inner Mongolia, Northeast China, Hubei, Hunan and other places may reach more than 20°C. Around February 23, the lowest temperature 0°C line will be pressed south to the central and southern parts of Jiangsu and Anhui, southern Hunan and southern Guizhou. From 08:00 on February 18 to 08:00 on February 20, the temperature in the southern Xinjiang Basin, most of Inner Mongolia, the eastern part of Northwest China, northern North China, Northeast China, Huanghuai, Jianghuai, Jianghan, and northern Jiangnan will drop by 6-10℃. Among them, the western part of the southern Xinjiang Basin, most of Inner Mongolia, and most of Northeast China will drop by 12-16℃, and locally may reach above 18℃.

1. The government and relevant departments shall perform emergency work to prevent cold waves in accordance with their duties;

2. Pay attention to keep warm;

3. Agriculture, aquaculture, animal husbandry, etc. should actively take measures to prevent frost, freezing and other cold weather to minimize losses;

4. Do a good job of wind prevention.

2 Blue Warning for Strong Winds

The Central Meteorological Observatory continued to issue a blue warning for high winds at 06:00 on February 18: It is expected that from 08:00 on February 18 to 08:00 on February 19, there will be strong winds of 5~6 and gusts of 7~8 in the eastern part of the southern Xinjiang Basin, central and western Tibet, southern Qinghai, Hexi Corridor of Gansu, central and western Inner Mongolia, and central and western Liaoning; there will be strong winds of 7~8 and gusts of 9~10 in Bohai Sea, Bohai Strait, the northern waters of the Yellow Sea, and the northern waters of the East China Sea.

Defense Guide:

1. The Central Meteorological Observatory and the China Maritime Search and Rescue Center remind ships sailing or operating in waters affected by strong winds to pay attention to navigation safety;

2. Fire prevention departments in forests, grasslands and urban areas should make good preparations for fire prevention, and traffic management departments such as airports, railways and highways should take measures to ensure traffic safety;

3. Stop outdoor work and recreational activities at high altitudes and on water, and reinforce or properly place fences, scaffolding billboards, simple facilities and other structures that are easily blown by strong winds;

4. Pedestrians and vehicles should not stay under tall buildings, temporary structures such as billboards, or trees.

3. Sandstorm Blue Warning

Affected by the cold air and strong winds, it is predicted that from 8:00 on February 18 to 8:00 on February 19, there will be blowing sand or dust weather in parts of eastern Xinjiang and the southern Xinjiang Basin, western Inner Mongolia, southern Gansu, Ningxia, most of Shaanxi, western Shanxi and other places, and sandstorms will occur in some areas of the western and southern parts of the southern Xinjiang Basin, northern Ningxia, and northern Shaanxi.

Precautions

(1) When sandstorms come, try to avoid going out;

(2) Close doors and windows of the house in time, and seal them with rubber strips when necessary;

(3) Use wet dust removal methods such as mopping with a wet mop or wiping with a wet rag to keep the room clean and prevent dust from re-suspending in the room;

(4) If you need to go outdoors, use a wet towel or gauze to protect your eyes, mouth and nose; wash your face immediately after returning to the room.
