How do strawberries and tomatoes survive the winter? Let's take a look at some of the "black technologies"

As the temperature drops, it is particularly important to keep fruits and vegetables warm. In Shouchang Town, Jiande, agricultural technicians went deep into the fields and used various warming measures to keep the strawberries and fruits in the greenhouse warm through the winter.

Walking into the tomato greenhouse, a warm current hits you. The diesel heater roars, and the warm air flows through the pipes to heat the tomatoes in the field. The red and yellow tomatoes hanging on the vines are crystal clear, enjoying a bit of warmth in the winter.

In addition, in the strawberry greenhouse, scattered strawberries are hanging among the branches and leaves. Due to weather reasons, the time for large-scale strawberries to be put on the market this year has been delayed a lot. The temperature has dropped significantly in the past few days. The second layer of film on the top of the greenhouse has been opened at night. If the temperature drops to 1-3℃, the third layer of insulation film in the greenhouse will be opened, and the "black technology" heating system in the greenhouse will also be turned on.

Technician Fu Guicheng said that their strawberry greenhouse is equipped with a water source heat pump, which sends hot water in through a return pipe. The principle of reflux is used to increase the temperature of the strawberry roots to ensure that the strawberries can survive the winter.

For example, the tomato shed is equipped with a diesel-heated fan, which automatically heats and supplies air when the temperature drops below 10℃ and automatically stops when the temperature rises above 12℃, fully ensuring that the tomatoes can survive the winter.

Having the facilities to provide protection is not enough. Agricultural technicians pay attention to the weather every day and go to the fields of farmers to carefully check the growth of vegetables and fruits. They answer questions carefully and guide farmers on how to do a good job of insulation and lighting management in greenhouses under low temperature weather.
