Have you ever seen a plant that can produce 1,000 bananas at a time?

Can you imagine how many bananas a banana tree can produce at most? 200, 300, 400, or even 1,000?

Generally speaking, it is considered a great achievement if a banana tree can produce 100 bananas. However, in the "World Tropical Fruits Window" in Huzai Village, Dalu Town, Qionghai City, there is a plant called Thousand Layer Banana , also known as Elephant Trunk Banana or Thousand Fingers Banana.

This banana is so spectacular . Simply put, it is long, numerous and heavy! There are densely packed small bananas stacked together, with more than 20 bananas on each layer, a total of more than 80 layers, and more than 2 meters long!

The banana is native to Southeast Asia and is 3 to 4 meters tall. When it is not bearing fruit, it is no different from ordinary bananas. Once it blooms and bears fruit, the banana will show its unique side.

As the flowers fade, layers of bananas appear from top to bottom. The fruits of the banana are dense and numerous, with a bunch of more than 70 layers, each layer with more than 10 fruits, and a total of more than 1,000 .

The reason why the banana can bear so many fruits is mainly because it blooms very well! When it blooms and bears fruit, the scene is very spectacular.

When the banana blooms, people can see many spike-shaped flowers, stacked up one after another. What's interesting is that when the banana blooms, the axis of the inflorescence will continue to extend downward, and the flowers that have been pollinated will gradually develop into fruits. Therefore, usually the fruits in the upper part are ripe, and the axis of the inflorescence is still growing downward, almost close to the ground.

So the question is, can the Thousand Layer Banana be eaten?

According to experts, the fruit of the banana can actually be eaten after it matures and turns yellow, but because its fruit is smaller than ordinary bananas, has very little flesh, and some even taste sour, its edible value is not high.

Although the banana is relatively common in Malaysia and Indonesia, it also exists mostly in the wild. In addition to Southeast Asia and other places, bananas are mostly grown for viewing and collection, and occasionally the ripe fruits can be seen being eaten by birds or squirrels.
