At the same time, when playing with a mobile phone while lying on your side, the screen is very close to your eyes, and the adjustment strength of the human eye muscles will increase, which can easily cause various discomfort symptoms, such as computer vision syndrome, the common symptoms of which are blurred vision, dry eyes, eye fatigue, etc.

In addition, bad eye habits cause the eyes to adjust inward for a long time, and failure of adjustment may cause sudden strabismus. If you have myopia and often use your eyes at high intensity and close distance, you must pay attention to preventing acute strabismus.

Under the action of the gravity of the internal organs, the spine bends and rotates downward, and the force increases significantly to about 75%.

If you lie on your side for a long time playing with your phone, your spine will be under high pressure all the time, which may cause the nucleus pulposus of the spine to bulge to one side, causing scoliosis, lumbar disc herniation, etc.

Lumbar disc herniation is also prone to be accompanied by sacroiliac joint dysfunction, which manifests as long-term, chronic low back and leg pain and other symptoms.

Playing with the phone while lying on your side will cause the muscles in your waist and back to be over-stretched, putting you in a state of tension and fatigue, which can easily lead to pain in the long run.

1. Pay attention to the distance between your eyes and the phone

Whether you are using your phone daily or playing with it while lying down, be careful to avoid keeping the screen too close to your eyes. It is recommended to keep the screen at an arm's length (about 50 to 70 cm) away.

2. Keep sufficient light

When the light is poor, our pupils will dilate to capture more light; conversely, the pupils will shrink to reduce the amount of light entering. If you use your phone in a dim environment for a long time, your pupils will increase the frequency of adjustment, which can easily cause visual fatigue, acute glaucoma, and even blindness.

Therefore, when playing with your mobile phone, you must ensure that there is sufficient light around you and adjust the screen brightness to a level that does not differ significantly from the surrounding light. You can also place a small lamp at the head of the bed, which is convenient for switching on and off and can protect your eyes.

3. Pay attention to usage time

Avoid long-term, high-intensity viewing of electronic screens, and try not to look at the phone screen for more than 4 hours a day. It is recommended to change your sight and look into the distance for 20 seconds after playing with the phone for about 20 minutes.

4. Remember to blink more often

Under normal circumstances, we blink about 24 times per minute, and each time we blink, our eyes secrete tears to keep the eye surface moist. When playing with a mobile phone, the number of blinks decreases, resulting in insufficient tear secretion and dry eye surface, which may cause dry eye syndrome in the long run.
