The Hangzhou Supergravity Field is located in Yuncheng, Yuhang District, covering an area of ​​89 acres and a total construction area of ​​approximately 34,560 square meters. It will be built with 18 airborne devices including three centrifuge hosts (including verification machines), six experimental cabins, as well as supporting facilities such as experimental buildings, 110 kV substations, data centers, smart experimental parks, and temperature control subsystems.

Recently, the Hangzhou supergravity field project reached a milestone - the supergravity experiment building was officially put into use.

The ultra-gravity experiment building is in the shape of a Chinese character "丰". The core in the middle is the main engine hall, which is used to house three ultra-gravity centrifuges, including the model preparation machine, heavy-load machine, and high-speed machine.

The east and west auxiliary halls are located on both sides of the main hall and are used to place auxiliary equipment for six experimental cabins, including slope and high dam, geotechnical earthquake engineering, deep sea engineering, deep earth engineering and environment, geological process and material preparation.

The northern part is the precision testing area, which is used to place various precision experimental instruments such as electron microscopes.

The southern part is the research and exchange area, which has an entrance lobby, communication space, multi-function hall, etc.

At present, the model preparation machine and verification machine of the Hangzhou Supergravity Field have been installed, and are expected to pass acceptance and enter trial operation in early 2025.

The other two centrifuges - a heavy-load centrifuge and a high-speed centrifuge - are also being processed and manufactured, and are scheduled to be transported to the site for installation in April 2025.

When the centrifuge is "working", it is like a giant using his two arms to carry two large baskets and spin them rapidly. The supergravity field generated by the rotation will produce a time and space compression effect on the objects in the baskets.

Through this device, researchers can simulate changes in mountain and landforms in a very short time.

If a soil contaminant migration experimental device is installed on an ultragravity centrifuge, the large-scale and long-duration migration of pollutants underground can be seen.

When the Hangzhou supergravity field project is fully completed, it will become the world's largest and most powerful multidisciplinary supergravity experimental facility, providing an advanced experimental platform for the implementation of major national scientific and technological tasks, the research and development and verification of new technologies for major projects, and the development of cutting-edge material science.

Not long ago, the construction of the west wing of the extremely weak magnetic facility started, covering an area of ​​47,000 square meters. Three cross-research platforms will be built: a large-scale magnetic shielding space technology cross-research platform, an ultra-high sensitivity extremely weak magnetic field and inertial measurement device and instrument cross-research platform, and a chip-based quantum sensor process technology cross-research platform (part).

After completion, the three cross-research platforms will promote the incubation of emerging industries through the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, provide a key platform for the research and development, testing and technical verification of extremely weak magnetic facilities, and meet the needs of upstream research and development results and downstream results transformation.

News has come from the Planning and Construction Command of Zero Magnetic Valley and Science City that the construction of the extremely weak magnetic field facility is about to usher in the "first shovel", and it will become the world's only "zero magnetic" space with the highest performance and largest space.
