Color TV enterprises have to fight a tough battle in the post-entry hardware era

The impact of the expiration of energy-saving and people-benefiting policies has gradually emerged. Since the beginning of this year, the development of the color TV industry has returned to a low-growth channel, especially the growth rate of domestic sales output value has dropped sharply. According to a relevant report released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, from February to May this year, the growth rate of domestic sales of the color TV industry has dropped by more than 20 percentage points compared with the average level of the whole year last year. Under the pessimistic outlook, the smart TV industry has shown strong growth space.

If 2013 was the first year of explosive growth for smart TVs, then in 2014, with the deepening of market awareness and the intelligence of all categories of home appliances, the home appliance industry is moving towards a new era of smart homes.

According to the China Internet Development Report, by the end of last year, the number of Chinese Internet users had reached 618 million, of which more than 500 million were mobile Internet users. Based on the Internet environment where users can create content anytime and anywhere and instantly connect to social relationships and needs through mobile phones, the Internet of Things technology that realizes "interconnection of things" has made more home appliances and more applications possible. Home appliance manufacturers have taken this opportunity to focus on smart homes.

According to data from relevant institutions, China's smart home industry will increase at a rate of 20% per year. It is estimated that in 2014, the scale of China's smart home market will reach 28.61 billion yuan.

Relevant industry insiders pointed out that although the current intensive launch of new smart home appliances is quite high and the sales scale of smart home appliances in China has also started to grow, the market is still in the introduction stage from the perspective of the entire smart home industry, and the so-called intelligent learning, interconnection and interaction functions emphasized in the Internet era of smart home appliances are still in the stage of publicity and conception.

Industry experts said that the promotion of the smart home industry still faces many obstacles. Especially in the context of Internet companies collectively eager to try and BAT all laying out smart home products, traditional home appliance companies need to be vigilant - holding on to the entrance of the smart home market is a tough battle that must be fought in the post-hardware era.
