Once upon a time, the issuance of WCDMA licenses made China Unicom really excited. However, six years have passed, and with the issuance of 4G licenses, WCDMA has become a thing of the past!

Looking back at China Unicom over the years, it is like the Kingdom of Shu. There are many superficial reasons, but the most fundamental reason should be "people". Due to the multiple integrations within China Unicom, to put it bluntly, for the sake of personal "little tricks", the process became more and more lengthy, the front-line sales space became smaller and smaller, the management became more and more complicated, and the team morale became increasingly low. Even though Gang Ge was extremely talented, he could only leave sadly.

Telecom occupied the "eastern part of the Yangtze River" and was full of confidence when it first obtained CDMA. The integrated bundling strategy did develop a lot of mobile users. However, the terminal industry chain did not have an advantage, and the bundling caused a lot of user backlash. The 4G license has been delayed, and the subsequent development is in confusion. It can only rely on the fixed network to survive in a corner. If the problem of mobile export bandwidth is solved, Telecom's fixed network market share will inevitably be further lost with its low-price advantage. It can be said that although there is no immediate worry, there are long-term concerns.

In recent years, China Mobile has been able to get whatever it wants. It has made huge investments to support the scale of its networks, and its bare-subsidized terminals have gained an advantage in the industrial chain. Its services are also the most standardized, and it has already shown signs of dominating the entire country. China Mobile has made great efforts in 4G, and as its market share continues to increase, as the saying goes, "long separation will eventually lead to reunion, and long reunion will eventually lead to separation." What will happen to the millions of employees of China Telecom and China Unicom? It is a guess that industry restructuring and splitting will be inevitable soon.
