So, is this true? Yahoo Tech editors believe that this statement is undoubtedly exaggerated. In fact, many users do not frequently plug and unplug micro SD cards, and there are no instabilities or crashes. Kingston and SanDisk's memory card products are not "extremely poor quality."

In fact, the fundamental reason why mobile phone manufacturers gradually abandon the design of memory card slots is very simple: profit. Let's do the math: a high-end micro SD card with a speed of up to 95MB/s, the price of 16GB is only 199 yuan, and the 60MB/s version is only 89 yuan; and for a high-end mobile phone, the storage difference of 16GB often brings a price difference of at least 400 yuan. In addition, the life of the memory card can often reach several years. Maybe you have changed your mobile phone, but the memory card is still available, which undoubtedly saves costs.

It seems that the strategy of built-in storage was proposed by Apple , but more and more manufacturers have discovered the secret and adopted this design. For consumers, the experience of built-in storage and SD card is actually not much different. The above-mentioned high-speed SD card can actually fully meet the needs of high-performance applications, large games and high-definition videos.

But obviously, more and more mobile phone manufacturers need to improve their profit margins, so in the future, there will be fewer and fewer mobile phones with memory card slots, especially high-end models.
