Voicebot.ai defines voice as a distinct class of programs from the visual interfaces on smartphones, smartwatches and TVs. From the perspective of devices, although the number of smart speaker users is not as high as that of smartphones, the penetration rate of voice assistants is higher. 93.3% of smart speaker users use voice assistants, and 65.8% of smartphone users use voice assistants. More than half of drivers use voice assistants. The penetration rate of voice assistants on other devices does not exceed half. The modern era of voice assistants began with Apple's Siri. The iPhone 4s advertisement in 2011 introduced a voice assistant. At first, Siri also faced challenges because its performance did not match the advertisements and the system was slow to respond to various consumer needs. Eventually, Siri stabilized and people began to use it. Currently, 375 million users use Siri every month. Amazon Alexa debuted the Echo smart speaker in 2014, which is not for personal use but for home use, and it has surpassed Siri in popularity. Google entered the voice market in 2016.
