Facing the integration of three networks, operators should make new cakes

The pilot work of the three-network integration has entered the final stage. Recently, the General Office of the State Council issued the "Three-network Integration Promotion Plan". An important mission entrusted to the three-network integration is to "promote the interconnection and resource sharing of information network infrastructure" and open up and share the most basic information transmission channels through multiple paths. In the future, it will be "conducive to promoting consumption upgrades, industrial transformation and improvement of people's livelihood."


Since January 13, 2010, my country has launched the pilot work of the integration of three networks. After more than five years of pilot work, 54 regions and cities have joined the ranks of pilot areas. In more than three months, this people-friendly project will be fully promoted to all administrative regions in the country. This means that starting from New Year's Day 2016, the relevant barriers in the telecommunications, radio and television, and Internet industries will be gradually broken down, and watching TV, making phone calls, and broadband Internet access will no longer be monopolized by a certain operator. By then, telecommunications operators, cable TV network operators, and even virtual operators can operate the above business forms.
The initial integration of the three networks is only a connection at the level of information transmission channels, and in the future, more new business models and business forms will be born based on various networks. Imagine that if the e-commerce business based on the Internet is successfully grafted onto the cable TV network, the user groups will be fully covered, and the market space will inevitably be expanded. Developing services and products that consumers like based on the characteristics of different networks will naturally achieve multiple goals at one stroke - consumers can sit in front of the TV and make various purchases very conveniently, and the corresponding industrial economy and consumption level will naturally be boosted.
The increase in business competitors not only allows consumers to get more benefits in terms of product prices, after-sales services, etc., but is also conducive to the further promotion of relevant national policies (such as broadband service speed increase and fee reduction, information infrastructure co-construction and sharing, cultural consumption, etc.). Therefore, operators involved in the integration of three networks do not need to worry about their competitors snatching their original "shrunk piece of cake". Instead of sighing here, it is better to bend down and listen to the voices of users and make a new piece of cake, which is the way of the king.
