Six cameras working together, this unmanned driving system is quite powerful

AIMotive is committed to developing an autonomous driving software aiDrive, which can be applied to any type of car, suitable for any driving situation and any driving location. aiDrive consists of a recognition engine, a positioning engine, a motion engine and a control engine. Niko Eidas, chief operating officer of AIMotive, said that the recognition engine is the core part of the autonomous driving software.

The recognition engine needs to collect a lot of road details through 6 to 12 cameras installed on the car. It is set to handle 100 different types of objects, but the company currently only uses 25 types, including common road signs such as pedestrian markings and sidewalks. Through the images provided by the camera, the engine can identify the type and size of the object, the distance and angle from the car. The information of the recognition engine will be combined with the information of the positioning engine to provide guidance for the car to drive on the road.
