The bitter fruit of the new policy: We are back to the era when taxis are expensive and difficult to get

Since the new online car-hailing policy was officially implemented last year, people have had mixed opinions on the new policy. Recently, Didi Chuxing announced that it would stop dispatching orders to online car-hailing vehicles with non-Beijing license plates in Beijing from April 1. Beijing has become another city after Shanghai where Didi Chuxing has completely cleared out foreign-licensed vehicles. The previously cheap online car-hailing vehicles no longer exist. Due to the impact of the new policy on online car-hailing, a large number of drivers and vehicles that do not meet the regulations have been cleared out on a large scale, and prices have risen accordingly.

As a result, some online ride-hailing drivers lost their jobs. Many online ride-hailing drivers used to drive illegal taxis. After finally finding a legal channel, the new policy came and the desperate online ride-hailing drivers will once again drive illegal taxis. It was originally an innovation that was convenient and beneficial to the people, but the relevant departments have forcibly regulated online ride-hailing into a new taxi company.

The real purpose is not to drink. In fact, in recent years, big cities such as Beijing and Shanghai have been under pressure from a large number of immigrants. They hope to control the immigrants through various policies and exclude low-quality people. Unfortunately, online ride-hailing has also become a scapegoat for controlling the immigrant population. Didi and other online ride-hailing platforms previously hired a large number of foreign drivers in order to increase their market share, but after the new policy, everything is gone.
Since the implementation of the new policy, we can clearly feel that in first-tier cities such as Beijing and Shanghai, the success rate of hailing a taxi has dropped rapidly in some areas and at certain times. Users who need to travel will undoubtedly return to the past era when taxis were expensive and difficult to get.
