Some iPhone 6 cases reportedly failed Apple inspection, which may affect shipments

According to Taiwan's Economic Daily, there have been reports in foreign investment circles that the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 case manufactured by Taiwan's Catcher Technology failed to pass Apple's inspection due to appearance defects, and the shipment was delayed. Apple therefore urgently placed orders with two other iPhone 6 case suppliers, Jabil and Hon Hai. Catcher Technology said it would not comment on the news. The launch of Apple's iPhone 6 is imminent. Recently, Apple went to various suppliers for quality verification, but it was reported that it was dissatisfied with the cracks and bright marks in the metal and plastic seam area of Catcher's 4.7-inch iPhone 6 test machine. It is understood that the cause of this problem is the anodizing process problem. Since Hon Hai and Jabil's 4.7-inch iPhone 6 are already in mass production, Catcher's chairman Hong Shuishu was angry when faced with the quality failure of Apple's inspection and replaced the two most senior technical leaders. In order to ensure the smooth launch of the iPhone 6, Apple has placed orders with Jabil and Hon Hai. Jabil will make two more models for Apple to refer to, one of which may be to prevent similar uncontrollable situations from happening again. Currently, Catcher's casing production capacity is three times that of Jabil. If the order is transferred, Jabil will not be able to take up the huge order. It is expected that Hon Hai will become the biggest beneficiary, which has led Hon Hai to recruit 100,000 people in the mainland. In the face of the low yield rate of Catcher's 4.7-inch iPhone 6 casing, some people believe that the process difficulty of the seam of the iPhone 6 casing is indeed very high, but the design of the casing is similar to that of HTC M8. In theory, Catcher has done it before, so there should not be too many problems.
