Norway's electric vehicle sales in March ranked first in the world in terms of fuel cell vehicle share

According to foreign media reports, after a big surge in February, sales in the Norwegian electric car market declined in March, but also reached a historic high of 4,665 vehicles, an increase of 1% compared with the same period last year, and a market share of 35%. However, the sales did not include the Opel Ampera-e and the updated version of the electric Golf.

Nissan Leaf became the best-selling model in March, with a total of 499 units sold, the best performance in 11 months. Another eye-catching model is Tesla Model X, which sold a total of 446 units in March, ranking second and achieving the best performance since September last year.

Renault Zoe ranked fifth, with sales in March rising to 322 units due to the ZE 40 version, the best performance in the past nine months. In addition, BMW i3 and Mitsubishi Outlander plug-in hybrid versions ranked third and fourth, with sales of 394 and 359 units respectively in March.

There are two models worth mentioning in the second half of the ranking. The first is the Mercedes-Benz B250e, whose sales at the beginning of this year were not ideal, but with 217 sales in March, it ranked 13th, setting a record for the best performance in the past six months. The second is the Hyundai Ioniq electric car, whose sales also rebounded, with a total of 215 units sold in March, ranking up to 14th. It is reported that the initial poor sales were mainly due to production restrictions. In addition, the controversial Toyota Prius plug-in hybrid version sold a total of 54 units in March.

In March, Hyundai sold two additional fuel cell vehicles in Norway, bringing the market share of fuel cell vehicles in Norway to 0.03%, the highest level in the world. There are currently 10 fuel cell vehicles on the Norwegian market, including four Toyota Mirai.

In terms of cumulative sales in the first three months, Nissan Leaf climbed to the second place, while Tesla Model X dropped to the seventh place. In addition, the ranking of Volvo XC90 plug-in hybrid version also dropped to the ninth place.

From the ranking of automobile companies, BMW ranks first with a market share of 17%, followed by Volkswagen Group with a market share of 15%; Mercedes-Benz ranks third with a market share of 12%; and then Nissan and Tesla each have a market share of 9%.
