Jia Yueting's electric car company is losing a lot of talent: it is also involved in a sexual harassment lawsuit

According to The Verge on December 5 Beijing time, according to a recently disclosed indictment, Genesis Reyes, a former female security guard at Faraday Future's California headquarters, claimed that she was sexually harassed and cyberstalked by an IT administrator of the company.

The plaintiff claimed that Faraday Future ignored her written and verbal reports of the defendant Josue Alejandro Sanchez's behavior, and said that she was fired by Faraday Future after she reported the situation to the company's leadership. Faraday Future was therefore listed as a co-defendant in the case.

Reyes also said in the lawsuit that Faraday Future was more concerned about the confidentiality of its electric vehicle project than the personal safety of its employees.

Reyes claimed that the surveillance cameras in the area where she worked were turned off because the company was testing the FF91 electric vehicle prototype in the area.

In one case, an employee lost control of a prototype vehicle and it "lurched backwards at high speed" into another car, an incident Reyes was asked not to include in his report.

Faraday Future and Reyes' employer, G4S Security Solutions (hereinafter referred to as "GS4"), are both listed as defendants in the case.

The case was filed in June this year and is expected to go to trial in December 2018.

Reyes alleges that Sanchez harassed her several times between February and April 2017. Reyes worked in a single-person security booth at Faraday Future's headquarters, and during those three months, Sanchez approached her several times, usually at night, and asked for her personal information.

The indictment alleges that after Reyes refused, Sanchez "glared at her in a sexist way." He also entered the security booth and physically confronted Reyes, preventing her from leaving the booth. Reyes said that on at least one occasion, Sanchez followed her to the bathroom and waited for her to come out of the door.

The indictment alleges that Sanchez "searched and stole" Reyes' personal contact information, including her shift schedule. Reyes claims that Sanchez used the illegally obtained information to message her multiple times until she blocked him.

Reyes claims Sanchez accessed her "personal email or online account" and used that information to order a Lyft car using an "alias known only to Reyes," which she considers intimidation. Sanchez parked his car near Reyes's and once even rammed Reyes' car with his own.

The complaint states that Reyes reported Sanchez's harassing behavior to her supervisors at G4S and Faraday Future on multiple occasions, both in writing and verbally.

Her boss at Faraday Future said Sanchez's harassing behavior showed that "he was obsessed with her." Her bosses at both companies accused her of "attracting men" and failing to protect her personal information.

Reyes said she reported Sanchez's harassment to Faraday Future's foreman, inspectors, human resources representatives, the vice president of human resources, "multiple vice presidents," and even company co-founder Tony Nie. As a result, she was given a written warning by G4S in April and fired in May.

Faraday Future responded by saying, "We do not comment on pending litigation." When asked whether Sanchez still works at the company, Faraday Future used this sentence to evade The Verge.

Sanchez's LinkedIn information shows that he is still a system administrator at Faraday Future. Sanchez, G4S and Reyes declined to comment.

Reyes' lawsuit is just one of several currently facing Faraday Future. In a lawsuit filed on November 29, the law firm Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP, which Faraday Future hired to negotiate the inclusion of the FF91 in future Transformers films, accused Faraday Future of failing to pay $162,881.53 in attorney fees.

Due to the inability to raise new investment, Faraday Future has suspended the production of FF91 and experienced a large-scale talent exodus.

Following the departure of the chief financial officer, chief technology officer, vice president of supply chain, and vice president of human resources, Faraday Future's chief designer left last week. Some employees directly involved in the development of FF91 have moved to other companies.
