Apple's global market share is threatened by domestic manufacturers. Apple is in trouble

Recently, it was reported that according to data from research company Newzoo, Apple's share of the global mobile device market is 34.8%. It is worth noting that the market share of the top five smartphone manufacturers in mainland China, including Huawei, Xiaomi, Lenovo, OPPO, and Vivo, accounts for 30.2%. It should be noted that in the Steve Jobs era, Apple phones and domestic phones were two completely different grades. In addition to price, they were also the best in terms of system and performance. In the past two years, domestic mobile phones have developed rapidly in both the hardware market and applications, and have quickly occupied a place in the mobile device market.

For Apple, is it really because domestic mobile phones are too strong that its position is threatened? In fact, although it is true that domestic mobile phones have developed rapidly, in the same period of time, Apple's development in the past two years has been somewhat mediocre and even somewhat unsatisfactory.

There have been reports that Apple's sales have been declining. A lean camel is bigger than a horse. Although it has not yet reached negative sales, Apple under Cook's leadership can be said to be on a downward slope compared to the Jobs era. Not only is there no qualitative update on the new phone, but the iPhone 7, which was recently launched, was also exposed to be "fighting" Huawei by slashing prices wildly to "fight" Huawei's Mate 9. It seems that Apple is really in trouble this time.


Why do people always say that domestic mobile phones will surpass Apple?

For domestic mobile phones, why they have not surpassed Apple is actually a question. We often see news about a certain brand that is about to release a new phone and will surpass Apple. First of all, the brand positioning puts Apple in a very high position. Users have already recognized the existence of Apple before paying attention to the phone itself. In this regard, Huawei has set a good example. Ren Zhengfei once mentioned in his speech that it is not allowed to say "destroy Apple, destroy Samsung". A good opponent is also a driving force for progress. Focusing on the phone itself is the magic weapon for winning.

As for Apple's tenth anniversary this year, Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi and others have already launched new phones to occupy the market. This also means that Apple's tenth anniversary commemorative edition new phone, which will be released in the second half of the year, will either be a stunning masterpiece or a clown that attracts attention. Of course, it is not ruled out that Cook will still confidently follow the conservative route, but if this is the case, Apple will find it difficult to make much progress.

Compared with the past, the current smartphone market is different now. In addition to the increasing maturity of technology, domestic smartphones also have product marketing strategies that are more suitable for the needs of the Chinese local market, which has given domestic smartphones an advantage in terms of timing, location and people. As things stand, it is probably unrealistic for Apple to continue to dominate the smartphone market. More signs indicate that the smartphone market has been increasingly shared by domestic manufacturers.
