Mercedes-Benz to build plant in Hungary to meet electric car production needs

Recently, foreign media reported that Mercedes-Benz announced that it will launch a new Full-Flex conceptual smart factory plan in Hungary. The initial investment is 1 billion euros (about 7.5 billion yuan). It is understood that the new factory will use 17,000 tons of steel to build stamping workshops, white body workshops, paint workshops and assembly workshops. The entire plant covers an area of ​​about 220,000 square meters (equivalent to 54 football fields) and can provide 2,500 jobs for the local area.

Officials said the factory will be used to manufacture a variety of models, mainly compact and rear-wheel drive models in the early stage. In the future, the assembly line will also launch electric vehicles, and the production line can be quickly converted to produce any model required by the company. At the same time, the new factory uses renewable energy, is equipped with intelligent human-machine cooperation and a large number of automated applications to reduce the burden on workers, and digitally track parts and vehicles to ensure that the correct parts are assembled correctly on the vehicle.
