New energy vehicles sold well in the first half of the year, with plug-in hybrid vehicles being particularly popular

Data released recently by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers showed that the production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 413,000 and 412,000 units respectively, up 94.9% and 111.6% year-on-year.

Among them, new energy passenger cars sold 355,000 units, up 70% year-on-year; new energy commercial vehicles sold 58,000 units, down 29.9% year-on-year. Among new energy passenger cars, pure electric passenger cars accounted for more than half of the sales, accounting for 63%; plug-in hybrid passenger cars grew rapidly, accounting for 23%. Among new energy commercial vehicles, pure electric commercial vehicles accounted for 13%, and plug-in hybrid commercial vehicles accounted for only 1%.

The China Automobile Association said that the "off-season" of the auto market is usually in the first half of the year, but due to the current policy transition, an unconventional situation has occurred. Although the cumulative sales in the first half of the year were less than 500,000 vehicles, the second half of the year will be the node for real efforts, and there will be no problem in achieving the expected sales of one million new energy vehicles by the end of the year.
