Xpeng Motors is now valued at nearly RMB 25 billion, with a B+ round of financing of RMB 4 billion

On August 2, Xpeng Motors officially announced the completion of its B+ round of financing. The total amount of this round of financing was 4 billion yuan, led by Primavera Capital, Morningside Venture Capital and Xpeng Motors Chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng. Hillhouse Capital, K11 and Zhongding Venture Capital also participated in this round of investment.

This is the largest single round of financing for new energy vehicle manufacturers since 2018.

After the completion of this round of financing, Xpeng Motors' entire Series B financing reached RMB 6.2 billion, the cumulative financing amount has exceeded RMB 10 billion, and its current valuation is nearly RMB 25 billion.

In May 2017, Xpeng Motors received RMB 2.2 billion in financing in its A round led by UCAR Industry Fund, which was initiated by UCAR. In December of the same year, it completed three rounds of financing, namely A0, A1 and A2.

On January 29 this year, Xpeng Motors announced the launch of a 2.2 billion yuan Series B financing round, led by Alibaba, Foxconn and IDG.

Among them, from the angel round investment to the completion of the B+ round, He Xiaopeng, chairman and CEO of Xpeng Motors, has always been the largest individual investor in Xpeng Motors. Morningside Capital is also an old shareholder of Xpeng Motors, participating in the investment from the A+ round, B round to the B+ round.

Xpeng Motors' first mass-produced car, the G3, was released at CES in the United States in January this year, and is scheduled to start delivery at the end of the year. The G3 is positioned as a highly intelligent Internet SUV, with L2.5 level autonomous driving technology, equipped with a first-of-its-kind 360° roof camera, 20 intelligent sensing devices, and full-scenario automatic parking adapted to Asian driving environments.

It is reported that Xiaopeng Motors will also build 150 supercharging stations across the country and gradually open dozens of offline direct stores in first-tier cities.
