In our childhood memories, in addition to the burden of homework and limited opportunities to let go, what awaits us during the summer vacation is the colorful extracurricular activities. Although it is a hot summer, we can still find happiness in many public welfare group activities, cultivating extracurricular interests or accumulating professional knowledge. More importantly, it can make the whole summer vacation more meaningful.

Generally speaking, the so-called "summer extracurricular activities" that we are generally exposed to are almost all purely purposeful and lack motivation for the participants. In other words, the advantages and significance of the activities themselves are not highlighted through the goals of the activities, so naturally the sense of involvement of the participants is often unsatisfactory.

Use courses to stimulate interest and achieve substitution through goals

Echo, the initiator of the Life of Pi project, once said that children nowadays are exposed to more television and games, and their ability to receive information through audio-visual language has also increased, but few parents teach their children to convey information and express themselves in this way.

As echo said, guiding students to pay attention to and record the little things in life or the wonderful ideas in their minds, and then convey them through audio-visual language, will be a wonderful experience. In the 2017 NetQin Youth Summer Camp with the theme of "Be a Director, Do Public Welfare", the students learned to shoot and edit their own works by using iPAD. After several professional classes, the students not only learned how to use the technology products in their hands to put their wild ideas into video works, but also developed more creative potential in group communication and gained friendship.

Under the guidance of a teaching team including He Xin, a top domestic storyboard designer who has participated in well-known works such as "The Great Wall", "Eternal Love", "Turandot" and "The Thousand Faces of Dunjia", students can go from understanding movies to experiencing the pre-, mid- and post-production workflow of professional film production. They will eventually understand that telling stories with images is not that unattainable. At the same time, they will also feel that film production also has designs and specifications.

In terms of story creation and writing, the teachers of Young Pi focus on their own creative ideas, use divergent thinking to try creative stories, use the four dimensions of time, place, characters, and story to present, and then transform the text story into a visual presentation and draw storyboards for the short script. In this way, the theme of the course has been fully reflected in a classroom atmosphere with a strong sense of substitution and joy.

The public welfare part allows urban children to experience high-quality courses while interacting with rural children step by step by completing course goals, and finally completing a public welfare project. This process will undoubtedly make the students feel deeply touched. They will help others through their own efforts and make progress together with them, which perfectly interprets the meaning of public welfare linkage.

Director Course + Charity Challenge The meaning of the Young Pi course is more than extraordinary

In addition to teaching photography skills and editing, NetQin Youth Pie's courses have a more profound meaning, which is public welfare. Perhaps the students cannot understand how a four-day course can contribute to public welfare, but after three days of courses introducing the current learning status of rural students with scarce educational resources, the students help improve the situation of rural students by completing the daily tasks in the public welfare challenge cards issued, thus extending the creation of public welfare value through their own actions.

As the course progresses, in order to let the students experience the significance of public welfare, Teacher Juvenile Pie divides a donation into several small tasks that are easy to complete. From preparing books for donation, writing book reviews to communicate with rural students about reading experience, to recording videos for rural friends, making crowdfunding thank-you gifts, independently crowdfunding postage for sending books, personally selecting couriers and sending packages, etc., students are allowed to complete challenging tasks step by step while also fully experiencing the difficulties that public welfare activities have to face and overcome. Let the public welfare actions become an important opportunity for students to participate in NetQin Juvenile Pie courses. Without relying on parents, the crowdfunding process that is completed independently throughout the process cultivates students' independent and responsible abilities.
