According to the Shanghai Stock Exchange, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will issue frequency usage licenses for 5G systems within the year and will also formulate frequency usage plans for the Internet of Things and the Internet of Vehicles.

At present, my country has only planned the 5G spectrum, but has not yet allocated it to the three major operators. After the 5G spectrum planning is completed, the next step is to allocate it to the three major operators. Many countries are or will conduct 5G spectrum auctions. my country's choice to release 5G spectrum and licenses during this period is in sync with the global 5G deployment rhythm.

The allocation of spectrum will affect the development of 5G. Due to the uncertainty of spectrum, operators and equipment manufacturers will have to invest heavily in R&D and testing, and the route will be unclear. Once the 5G spectrum usage plan is clarified, operators will be more motivated to invest.

Research reports from multiple brokerage firms show that my country's 5G will be pre-commercialized in 2019 and officially commercialized in 2020, and large-scale capital expenditure will appear after 2020.

According to statistics from CICC, the main investment scale of Chinese operators in 5G will reach 1.23 trillion yuan, an increase of 68% over the investment scale in 4G.
