DXOMARK overturned a large-scale double standard scene: mistook the screen protector for OLED screen burn-in, and gave the same screen two ratings

Recently, former OPPO vice president Shen Yiren complained about the famous evaluation organization DXOMARK on Weibo, saying that its scoring was not rigorous. Two identical mobile phone screens were measured to have two scores with huge differences.

The two screens mentioned by Shen Yiren in his Weibo post are the screens on OPPO FindX2 Pro and OnePlus 8 Pro. Both use the same screen, with no difference in model or parameters. OPPO and OnePlus are originally from the same company, so how can there be a difference of more than ten points?

DXOMARK's official Weibo account also responded, saying that the OPPO FindX2 Pro being reviewed was purchased from the French market. After standard quantitative testing, this machine happened to encounter the OLED screen burn-in phenomenon, so the score was lower than that of OnePlus 8 Pro.

However, this statement is really untenable, because DXOMARK pointed out in its review of OPPO FindX2 Pro that the uneven brightness at the top was caused by screen burn-in.

The reason why the OnePlus 8 Pro scored higher is not because it does not have this problem, but because the same problem was attributed to "uneven screen color". This is a double standard.

Moreover, DXOMARK not only failed to answer the question in the subsequent explanation, but also made things worse. They reiterated that their evaluation was conducted on a new phone purchased and after removing the protective film. However, careful netizens found that the reflection of the camera showed that they did not remove the protective film during the test, and the test with the film greatly reduced the professionalism of DXOMARK's evaluation.

In fact, because DXOMARK provides for-profit consulting services while claiming to be an independent reviewer, the neutrality of its reviews has always been questioned. For example, in the familiar mobile phone camera reviews, the scores of DXOMARK tests are now increasingly unable to reflect the camera quality of a mobile phone.
