BYD's sales of new energy passenger vehicles hit a record high in June, ending the first half of the year with a perfect ending

Official data shows that BYD sold 49,765 passenger cars in June, up 52.5% year-on-year and 10.2% month-on-month; among them, new energy vehicle sales hit a record high of 40,116, up 207.1% year-on-year and 26.6% month-on-month. What's more exciting is that BYD's sales surge is closely related to the brand's breakthrough. At present, the average selling price of BYD cars has exceeded 150,000 yuan, showing a good trend of rising volume and price.

BYD set a new monthly sales record in 2021 in June, both for the entire series and for new energy and its power segment. New energy accounts for more than 80%, of which the most eye-catching is the DM plug-in hybrid model, with a total sales of 20,100 units, a year-on-year increase of 536.7%. This is the first time that the DM model has achieved such a high sales performance. Wang Chuanfu's blueprint of subverting the fuel vehicle market with the DM-i strategy is accelerating. EV pure electric vehicle sales have grown steadily, with a total of 20,016 units sold, a year-on-year increase of 102%. The most popular flagship model Han still occupies a high sales position, showing its hard-core strength comparable to German luxury brands.

So far, BYD's passenger car series has sold a total of 242,321 units in the first half of the year, and new energy vehicles have sold a total of 150,211 units. The sales explosion in June can be said to have brought a perfect end to the first half of the year. The popularity of the DM model has also injected a shot in the arm to the new energy vehicle market.

In terms of models, the star model Qin PLUS DM-i sold 9,269 units in June, with a strong momentum to break 10,000 units, and future sales figures are expected to hit new highs. DM-i super hybrid technology represents BYD's forward-looking layout in terms of technology, accelerating the transformation of fuel vehicles to new energy vehicles with its comprehensive advantages of "fast, economical, quiet, smooth and green". Today, the sales figures of Qin PLUS DM-i and Song DM, which have sold 5,450 units, show that BYD is aggressively conquering the compact sedan and compact SUV markets. BYD's DM-i strategy has achieved phased success both in the market and in production.

Han's June sales were 8,386. Sales exceeded 10,000 within three months of its launch, and the sales have continued to rise this year. In the past, only BBA could achieve such results in the medium and large C-class sedan market above 200,000 yuan. Carrying the banner of Chinese cars and standing shoulder to shoulder with German luxury brands for a century, BYD's high-end strategy has shown initial results. Safety is the biggest luxury of an electric car. In Han, BYD first installed blade batteries that do not explode or catch fire after being punctured, creating a safety foundation for electric vehicles. In June, Han EV passed the official C-IASI test with high scores, and was the best new energy sedan in the three core indexes of in-car occupant safety index, pedestrian safety index, and vehicle auxiliary safety index. In addition to the blessing of ultra-safe blade batteries, such excellent results are inseparable from the high-starting design concept. At the beginning of the design, Han set the safety performance standard as L (Leading Industry Leadership) level, and from research and development to production, every link adopts the most stringent standards, and after thousands of trials and tribulations, it has become a high-quality car that is safe and reliable for consumers.

Led by star models and hard-core technologies, BYD's high sales performance in the first half of the year represents the backbone of the new energy vehicle market. From January to June 2021, BYD's monthly sales ranked among the top three new energy vehicle companies, ranking first. Among Chinese brands, the average price of BYD's passenger cars has increased nearly 2.5 times in 10 years, and currently exceeds 150,000 yuan. It not only leads domestic independent brands, but has even caught up with Volkswagen, the best-selling joint venture brand in China. By continuously improving the brand and achieving a simultaneous increase in the volume and price of vehicle models, BYD has blazed a leading path for Chinese auto brands. All of this stems from BYD's persistence over the years. Wang Chuanfu said that a strong manufacturing industry is the foundation of the country's industrial development. Only through disruptive technologies and products such as blade batteries and DM-i super hybrids can pain points be solved to win the market and usher in the spring of new energy development.
