Recently, Tesla updated the Beta 9 version of the Fully Autonomous Driving (FSD) service, which uses the Tesla Vision optical vision system and relies solely on optical images without any radar sensors to achieve functions such as autonomous driving navigation, automatic lane change, automatic parking, traffic lights and parking sign control. Previously, Tesla FSD has always been launched in the form of a $10,000 buyout. Shortly after the Beta 9 version was launched, Tesla announced the launch of a monthly subscription service for $199, giving users who do not want to buy out all at once more options. In response, Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas released a new report. In the report, Jonas said that the monthly subscription price of $199 was much higher than he expected. The previous buyout price of the service was $10,000. If calculated based on a 15-year service life, the average monthly cost would be $56. Jonas infers that by 2026-2027, 60% of Tesla users will subscribe to services with an average monthly price of $100, including autonomous driving, network connection, charging, etc. Tesla's car ownership is expected to reach 35 million to 40 million by 2030, by which time Tesla's software business revenue may exceed that of hardware sales. However, the safety of Tesla FSD Beta 9 has been questioned by the American Consumer Union. In the Consumer Reports released this week, some drivers mentioned that the function currently lacks safety protection, and there are risks such as missing turns and crashing into cars parked on the roadside. Now it will affect public safety. Consumer Reports bluntly stated: "Consumers are just paying to act as test engineers, and their safety is not protected."
