Amadeus: 2022 Q2 Travel Market Insights Report

Global car rental bookings continued to show double-digit growth through the second quarter of 2022. Global bookings increased 48% from January to June 2022 compared to the same period in 2021. Global bookings increased 37% year-over-year from April to June 2022.

The average global rental time for a car increased 25% to 5.72 days last quarter.

The US car rental market continued to grow 37% year-over-year, driven by 9 of the top 10 global car rental location searches being in the US.

Canada had the highest average daily rental cost at $118, while the U.S. and global averages were $94.
