According to the latest report released by South Korean market research firm SNE Research, BYD has surpassed LG Energy and ranked second among global electric vehicle battery suppliers with a market share of 16.2%. The report also mentioned that CATL continued to hold the top position in the electric vehicle battery industry, supplying Tesla Model 3, Model Y and other models, with a market share of 35%. This means that in the global electric vehicle battery supplier list, China's CATL and BYD took the first and second place, with a combined market share of more than 50%. In addition, the report showed that the total global electric vehicle battery consumption in the first quarter was 133.0GWh, an increase of 38.6% from 95.9GWh in the same period last year. Among them, CATL installed 46.6GWh of batteries in the first quarter, an increase of 35.9% from 34.3GWh in the same period last year. BYD installed 21.5GWh of power batteries in the first quarter, an increase of 115.5% from 10.0GWh in the same period last year.
