When Windows 8.1 Update was released, Microsoft said that all Windows 8.1 users needed to install this system update before the May patch date, otherwise they would not be able to receive future updates/patches released by Microsoft. On May 12, Microsoft extended this deadline to June 10, which is today. In other words, if your Windows 8.1 has not been upgraded to Windows 8.1 Update today, you will not be able to install all security patches in June or even in the future. If you have turned on automatic updates for Windows Update, the system has automatically installed Windows 8.1 Update for you. If you have not turned on automatic updates and you still haven't installed Windows 8.1 Update, then go to Windows Update now to check and download Windows 8.1 Update for free. Otherwise, starting from June 10, you will not be able to see any system updates released by Microsoft until you install Windows 8.1 Update.
