Report: More than 60% of 4K TVs have not been quality tested
Since last year, 4K TV (ultra-high-definition TV) has been popular among consumers and has become a profit-making tool for major color TV companies. However, there are a lot of mixed products on the market, and there are widespread phenomena of inferior products being sold as good ones and fake products being sold as real ones, making it difficult for consumers to distinguish the authenticity. Yesterday, the China Electronic Commerce Association released a report saying that 60% of 4K TVs have not undergone quality inspection. In order to purify the 4K TV market, the China Electronics Standardization Institute has formulated the "Ultra-High Definition Display Certification Technical Specifications" in the past two years, and has been approved for filing by the National Certification and Supervision Committee. Various industry organizations guide and urge companies to certify their products before selling them. However, yesterday, the latest data released by the China Electronic Commerce Association showed that products on the market that have passed 4K inspection and certification only account for 38% of the total number of ultra-high-definition TV products, and more than 60% of products have not passed certification. In this regard, Hu Jingyi of the Certification Center of the China Electronics Standardization Institute said that the specification has raised the entry threshold for 4K TV products, which is beneficial to the healthy development of the industry. It is hoped that companies can strictly self-discipline. Lu Renbo, deputy secretary-general of the China Electronic Commerce Association, pointed out that he called on companies to strictly discipline themselves, and relevant departments should also use certification as a mandatory specification to regulate the market. At present, the market regulation is still immature, and the industry is also trying to eliminate the fluke behavior of illegal enterprises and push fake 4K products into the market. Lu Renbo pointed out that during the popularization period of new products, the China Electronic Commerce Association recently jointly released purchasing tips with mainstream enterprises such as LG. In the stage when the regulations are not mandatory, purchasing tips can be used as a "civilian version" of certification.
