Shanghai Economic Information Center: Shanghai Automobile Market Registration Situation in July 2023

The total number of license plates in Shanghai in July 2023 was 46,225, a year-on-year decrease of 29.43% and a month-on-month decrease of 22.25%. From January to July, a total of 342,943 license plates were registered, a year-on-year increase of 29.65%.

The specific registration situation by type in July was: 3,482 imported passenger cars (including sedans); 6,531 domestic sedans; 9,711 small passenger cars (excluding sedans); 23,449 new energy passenger cars; 693 large passenger cars; and 753 small and 1,606 large trucks.
